[PATCH] ocfs2: Plugs race between the dc thread and an unlock ast message
This patch plugs a race between the downconvert thread and an unlock ast message. Specifically, after the downconvert worker has done its task, the dc thread needs to check whether an unlock ast made the downconvert moot. rgl build warnings and loading error on Linux
Dear useRs, I have several problems in using rgl-0.77 (and recent earlier versions) on Gentoo Linux with a custom-built v. 2.6.22 kernel. Currently I use R-2.6.1. When I build rgl, # R CMD INSTALL "/home/liviu/inst/dwn/R/rgl_0.77.tar.gz" or install.packages("rgl", dependencies=TRUE, method ="wget"), I notice the following warning messages: i686-pc-linux-gnu-g++ -I/usr/lib/R/include -I/usr/lib/R/include -I/usr/local/include -fpic -O2 -march=pentium-m -pipe -fomit-frame-pointer -std=gn...

optimization challenge
I have a challenge that I want to share with the group. This is not homework (but I may assign it as such if I teach the appropriate class again) and I have found one solution, so don't need anything urgent. This is more for fun to see if others can find a better solution than I did. The challenge: I want to read a book in a given number of days. I want to read an integer number of

hello! i need help for a specific graphic issue
hello, ladyes and gentlemans. check this: means<-c(4,6,8) stand.error<-c(0.1,0.3,0.5) now i've strongly tryed to scatterplot the means(y-axis),by showing their sd with the arrow(..,code=3,angle=90) function. The problem is that my x-axis has categorical values (say, factor(x)), and the arrows() can't recognize them as right coordinates. ????? thank you all in advance B.F. insubria

Initialising a mirror
Dears, I would like to mirror data from 2 servers connected together via VPN over ADSL lines (dwn 2Mbps/Upld 512Kbps). I'm sure rsync is one of the best tool to keep these data in sync but how should I use it to initialise the mirror? I'm currently testing the solution with 10Gb of data to keep in sync. But on my lines it would take more than 40 hours to initially create the mirro...

Inaccurate results without natting the traffic.
Hi folks. For quite a while, I tried to use linux (cbq and htb) to control bandwidth in order to replace a cisco equipment used to play this role on our network. After trying here and there, with a bunch of different distros, different versions, different compilations, ... the closest I could get was as follows: (using htb.init and cbq.init) Desired BW ==> Achieved BW 128k ==> 404.78
