Recently I tried to live broadcast the video of our workshop. but i was failed. I applied the following command dvgrab --format raw - | ffmpeg2theora -f dv -x 80 -y 64 -o /dev/stdout - | oggfwd myvps 8000 hackme /live.ogg I was able to configure video size but unable to configure audio bitrate. it was taking 60 kbps for audio and 20 kbps for video. I am being given a digital camcorder. It uses Mini DV tapes and either connects via typical RCA cables (IE to a tv) or via FireWire. I don't have the brand on hand, but I was told it can be ripped to DV like any standard FireWire camcorder (I believe dvgrab will be sufficient). Additionally if you wish to script this task you can look up the info on the three commands TSS wraps, specifically dvgrab/ffmpeg2theora/oggfwd. if your source file is in a h264 medium you should be able to transcode it to ogg in this fashion. Hi, We're planning to launch a video stream. We do not have anything yet (no camera, no computer, no software, only a Linux server that will do the broadcasting with icecast installed). Has anyone ever done such a thing? What hardware do you suggest? What software can be used (both for Linux and Windows on source side). Can Icecast be used for this video streaming purpose (on server side)?
