adding AD domain users in local Linux group for acces to share
Hello,
It seems that domain user can access share when they are specified in "valid list" but not when
"valid list" use local group definition.
First if added the domain user "duser" to the group "lgroup" in /etc/group
Then i defined a samba share and add the domain user "duser in the "valid list"

Of course it fails but I see no trace of authentication happening. Why
did it allow me to log in? I look at the windows event viewer and review

Question on Samba PDC: Permissions and groups
Hello everyone.
Im setting up a Samba PDC running 2.2.8a with LDAP on the backend to hold
user accounts, machines and passwords.
My question is actually on permissions and groups for users who are part of
the domain.
For example, in my testing, i've been able to successfully join machines
and clients to the PDC. However, when I log into the domain with the user,
I noticed that they have

Join Machine to Domain
Hello,
Is it really possible that just the user root with the samba password can
join workstations into the domain?
I have also some other users who are domain administrator, but with this
users i can't join any workstations into the domain.
This is mor me a important security point, because I want to give some
people the acces right to join workstations into domain and only this
function.

X100P in Australia
G'Day,
I need from regarding using the X100P. Some are specific to Australia and
I have been told in IRC there are already existing users in oz, so I
would appreciate your input.
1) Is the X100P Australia telco approved?
2) I have setup asterisk with X100P and whenever I dial in I cannot get
any callerid information. Is this standard behaviour? If not how have
other australian users managed
