Partek has Dunn-Sidak Multiple Test Correction. Is this the same/similar to any of R's p.adjust.methods?
The Partek package (www.partek.com) allows only two selections for Multiple
Test Correction: Bonferroni and Dunn-Sidak. Can anyone suggest why Partek
implemented Dunn-Sidak and not the other methods that R has? Is there any
particular advantage to the Dunn-Sidak method?
R knows about these methods (in R 2.1.1):

Help understanding cutree used for Dunn Index
Basic question:
Is it correct to assume that when using cutree to set the # clusters
(say k=4), cutree determines the clusters by the largest distances
among all potential clusters?
I've read the R help for cutree and am using it to define the number
of groups to obtain Dunn Index scores (using clValid library) for
cluster analysis (using Euclidean Distance and Ward's method)
More specific (if helpful):
I understand that cutree is used to set the number of clusters for
which the Dunn Index will base it's score on. But the r help doesn't
explain how the gr...

count ties after rank?
Hello!
I need to use Kruskal-Wallis test and post-hoc test (Dunn's test) for my data. But when I searched around, I only found this function: kruskal.test. But nothing for Dunn's test.
So I started to write one myself. But I do not know how to count ties in the data frame. I can use for loops but it seems long and unnecessary since the rank functi...

So my question is this: How can I end up with a wmf files using

Also, since the above obviously doesn't do what I hoped

Dunn's post hoc test
Hi Everyone.
I am rather new to R and I've been trying to implement a function to
carry out the above test. For a couple of days now I've been stuck on
how to generate average rank differences.
Say I have a vector of average ranks:
averank<- c(2,5,9,12)
I would like to subtract averank[1] from averank[2], averank[1] and
averank[2] from averank[3] and averank[1], averank[2] and

Thanks again,

...any suggestions on
1)getting this to work
2) making it more elegant (or perhaps just less clumsy)
If I have been unclear in any way I beg your pardons.
I do understand I haven't combined any data above, I think if I can generate a long-format dataframe I can combine them all on my own

DHCP configuration for Cisco 7960?

The part I can't figure out is, are the last two items normal? What
would prevent the default router and DNS server from providing an ARP
reply? I should note that immediately after the phone receives its IP,
one can still not ping it.
Any ideas or suggestions?

The combinations allowed are certainly sensible, but what is
the logic for disallowing other combinations (eg identity

the reasoning.

Sweave issue: quotes in verbatim-like output print incorrectly
Hi all
I love Sweave; use it all the time.
But I recently received a new computer, and ever since I
have had a problem I've never seen before.
For example, I place the following in my Snw file:
<<>>=
sms <-
read.table("http://www.sci.usq.edu.au/staff/dunn/Datasets/applications/popular/smsspeed.dat",
header=TRUE)
attach(sms)
sms.lm <- lm( Time ~ Age*Phone, subset=(Age>30) )
summary(sms.lm)

Standard stuff. The output appears in the corresponding LaTeX
file as it should, in a verbatim-like environment as it should.
But since I have h...
