R 4.0 for ARM processors
...R 4.0.2, built for ARM.) If there is no such Debian/Ubuntu repository, what would you recommend? Build R 4.0 for ARM from source? Use the cool 'rocker' images for R 4.0? Something else? Thank you so much for your advice. I must be misunderstanding something. I figured this would be a slam-dunk because (1) R 4.0 is the latest release, and (2) Ubuntu 20.04 is an LTS release, and (3) ARM is a supported architecture, or so I thought. Paul PS - Yes, the ARM processors in question are a Raspberry Pi cluster. Don't snicker. Hey, it's got 16 cores, 16 GB RAM total, and a terabyte of sp...

[LLVMdev] Proposal: add intrinsics for safe division
...as early as we deem appropriate.  But then the choice to do so is within LLVM rather than being delegated to the client, who is less likely to know about specifics like what LLVM can or can't pattern match. In short, I agree with your observations that these intrinsics are not an obvious slam-dunk compared to making the explicit control flow, but I think that the intrinsics do give enough flexibility on the LLVM side that it would be great if front-ends used them rather than rolling the control flow themselves. -Filip -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrub...

Bryan Smith: Thanks for the IPCop recommendation
A few weeks back I had tried to install CentOS on my old AMD 5x6x (equiv to P75 performance) with plans to use it as my firewall and router. Because there were some problems relating to RPM compile architecture (apparently), I posted and Bryan suggested IPCop, even at peril to his life on these lists ;-) according to him. ;-) ;-) Just wanted to tell him thanks, it's worked out well. Question about voip.ms service.
Hey; I figured I would ask here as I seem to get better results. I am using the voip.ms <http://voip.ms/> VoIP service. I have no problem configuring my Asterisk server 1.8x to dial out with my Softphone. HOWEVER, for some reason, I cannot get inbound. All that I hear is a busy signal. I know this is not much for you folks to go on, but what would be a good place to start

FWD: OGG level mismatch
...combination has a net gain of over +1 dB @ 1 KHz. This means: (1) If I set this up for testing at my www.pcabx.com web site, people are going to hear a change in the test audio signals when processed by your product that they will of course perceive as a defect in your product. + 1 dB is a slam dunk to hear in a DBT, just about everybody will hear it. Furthermore its not difficult to find highly-compressed, normalized program material that will sound clipped all the time with your product. (2) If I do technical tests for my www.pcavtech.com web site, then many of the test signals will be he...

...for pre-crime that we only have to give up a very small fraction of free will and privacy in order to protect ourselves and our children from violent crimes--frankly it's really zero percent for anyone that isn't doing something horribly wrong, and so it seems as though it should be a slam dunk, and yet here we are arguing over our right to bear arms completely oblivious to the fact that the real right that protects us from tyranny is speech (and frankly the lack of open and honest communication here is the tyranny )--and we're really not "getting" that seeing me jump up and...
