OT: Want to capture all SIP messages
I want to capture all SIP messages. I have about 30 hosts in about 6 colos. My first thought was dumpcap, but the output file name format bugs me. What do you use for long term SIP capture? -- Thanks in advance, ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve Edwards sedwards at sedwards.com Voice: +1-760-468-3867 PST https://www.linkedin.com/...

Problems after performing yum update
I performed the update yesterday that included installing kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.EL and replacing ethereal with wireshark. First, the trivial... Wireshark would not run from the KDE menu without editing the menu to change the command from "wireshark" to "kdesu wireshark" because dumpcap is at usr/sbin/dumpcap instead of /usr/bin/dumpcap . Making the change causes wireshark to open root password dialog like ethereal, which it replaced. (And which makes sense.) Now, the puzzling. This is an AMD Athlon XP 2600+ on an ASUS A7N8X deluxe ver 2.0 m/b. The symptom is that ntpd refu...

Logging SIP connection status for review
Is anyone using something to log SIP results (connected/not, latency) that they really like? We do some logging using simple scripts writing the results of sip show peers to a text file if customers report issues, but it would be nice to have a tool that logs all the time and lets us do some better reporting. For example, graphs of latency in a time range, or a list of unreachable phones within

Capture SIP all the time
Is there a way to configure the old SIP channel to stay in sip set debug all the time, without human intervention and also at boot time, by default? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... tinc crashing behind "stateless firewall"
I had a problem in a hostel a few weeks back. My "server" (the one machine which has a public IP) was crashing when started connecting my laptop in the WiFi of the hostel. I don't know if this data helps, but I created an experiment setup and saved journald logs and dumpcap dumps, from the "server" and the "client" (the laptop in the WiFi of the hostel) I talked to people and the term that fell was "stateless firewall". I *BELIEVE* the firewall in the hostel was dropping packages which are important for the tinc protocol. Anyway I guess...

Network Diagnostics
In our smallest office, we have a Dell CentOS 7 system, a Windows system and an HP 8610 printer, all hard-wire Ethernet connected with a Linksys router. The router provides Internet connection. All of the network-connected systems get their IP address from the router at power up. Successful network connection of the printer at power up has recently started taking much longer than usual.? The
