kinit fails
I'm trying to configure a Solaris 8 system to authenticate Samba against Windows 2003 ADS. I've compiled the appropriate packages; however, I'm quickly stuck trying to get my kerberos ticket. Here's the error: sumac:/opt/local/kerberos5/bin# ./kinit admin@DCRI.DUKE.NET kinit(v5): Cannot resolve network address for KDC in requested realm while getting initial credentials

Linux 2.2.0 and Samba client not happening for me
Dudes and/or Dudettes: HEEELLLPPP! (such a newbie statement) I can't get my remote SMB mounts to work on my Linux box. duke was happily running Slackware Linux 2.0.36 and Samba 1.9.18p8 . I upgraded to Linux 2.2.0pre9 (2.2.0final), which seemed to require upgrading to Samba 2.0.0 . (I don't remember the exact errors) Now i can't get my NT and '95 disks to stay mounted on

Need help with function that includes 2 summation
I am relatively new to R, so this may be a much simpler question than it seems to me. I am trying to create a function that includes two summations, and can't figure out how. I am attaching the equation as a pdf file. This function will then be optimized over a chosen range of values, but right now I just need help with the function. Thank you. removing (hopefully) unneeded access to $HOME
Hi, Thanks for dovecot. It's the best IMAP server ever. Okay, here's my problem: I use mbox INBOXes from /var/spool/mail/%u, and the INDEX lies in /var/spool/mail/dovecot/%d/%u. Users' other folders are found in /%h/mail. Now, I notice that when a user is accessing her INBOX, the imap process cwd's to the user's home, which I'd like to prevent as much as possible.

how do I "relate" tables in R?
Hi all, I'm new to the list...pretty new at learning to code in R... Is there a way to relate 2 different arrays in R? Hypothetical example: data1 ID z 1 100 2 250 3 75 4 12 5 89 data2 ID z 1 1 1 1 2 3 4 3 4 5 5 5 etc. Goal is to fill column z in data2 with appropriate z-values from data1 that correspond to a given ID. I'm looking for something akin to a

unable to move temporary installation of package
Thanks Jeff, So I initially when I got the computer moved my old packages into the new directory rather than downloading and installing them again. That was fine. I then just did a test to see if I could write in the folder and indeed I can. Just not via R. I uninstalled R Open, installed R 3.4.4, and the problem persisted, including just running it from the R console rather than from R
