Dug myself into a hole
I just build a CentOS 6 machine to replace my old machine which broke to where I could not fix it. In attempting to get the applications running which had worked on the old machine, I did updates from several repos such as rpmforge, atrpms, livna, epel, etc. Some of the attempts ended going down blind alleys. Now I have a mix of rpm's from various sites that I do not need, but they are

Ruby/Gtk Luke port
Hi all, some days ago I wrote that I once had started porting Luke to Ferret with Ruby/Gtk. I just dug out those sources and put them under version control. It''s far from finished and my first Gtk program, but might be a good start anyway. the code is available at svn://projects.jkraemer.net/inspector/trunk/ If anybody wants to contribute, I''ll be glad to grant commit rights. Pl...

Mounting Netware Volumes
I have one last RH 7.3 system that I want to convert to CentOS 4, but I can''t find the ncpfs utilities that I used to use to mount Netware shares. Has support been removed from the 3.x and 4? Regards, Paul Berger

logistic regression example from Devore5
I maintain the Devore5 package for R. This package provides the data sets from Jay Devore's text "Probability and Statistics for Engineering and the Sciences (5th ed)". I am having difficulty reproducing some logistic regression results from the textbook. Perhaps this is because I am not using the glm function correctly. The data from Example 13.5 (page 559 for those with a copy

force channel hangup
Hi guys, I have 1 zap channel in my house shared among couple people. If someone dials 911, I want that zap channel to be disconnected right away to make way for the 911 call. I dug through voip-info.org and didn't find much. Any hints? kel

fill an array by rows
I've dug around but not been able to find anything, am probably missing something obvious. How can I fill a three-dimensional (or higher dimension) array by rows instead of columns. eg new1 <- array(c(1:125), c(5,5,5)) works fine for me but fills it by columns and new2 <- array(c(1:125), c(5,5,...

Dial Delay
I've dug through the documentation, and I must have just glanced over this, but how do I set this system up so it executes the call when 4 digits have been entered. Currently it seems to be operating on a timeout system. Cisco 7940's Right now if I press the digits 6000 the phone waits like 8 seconds...

chan_sip and Digest realm
I am going to change my Digest realm to match my DNS SVR record. I dug through the code in chan_sip.c and on line 2748 I found it hard coded <frown> : snprintf(tmp, sizeof(tmp), "Digest realm=\"asterisk\", nonce=\"%s\"", r\anddata); I'm going to change this to : snprintf(tmp, sizeof(tmp), "Digest realm=\"isdn.net\...

Multiple FB apps in a single Facebooker app?
May seem strange but I''ve gotten a couple requests from clients [2 out of 4] abt this.. generally the requirement is that they want to serve up slightly different content but from more or less the same app.. I dug into init.rb and determined that its seems likely with some rearranging of facebooker.yml config - is there anything else of the top of anybody''s head that might be an issue? thanks in advance.. brez

FW: Network Magazine 04/04/04 Article pg 19 (Free IP Telephony PBXs?)
The networkmag@cmp.com appears to be broken. I dug around the magazine contacts and found Doug Allen, senior editor, you can send comments to dallen2@cmp.com . I didn't get a bounce back from that e-mail so I assume it made it to the editor. JR

Using before=> in a definition...
I hope I haven''t dug myself into a corner here... How can I make sure that /some/file.xml is created BEFORE the jboss-tfel0 service is started? I can''t use before => in the file{} in the jboss class because it doesn''t exist there. define create_jboss_inst($inst, $version, $naming_port) { .......

Sanity Check
Maaaaaaaaaaaaajor sanity check needed. I wrote a simple little plugin, and it wouldn''t load. I put some comments in it''s init.rb, and it didn''t even spit those out. So, I dug into the initializer.rb (/vendor/rails/railties/lib/initializer.rb) to see wtf is going on, and found the problem... but... can''t explain it. Here is the code in question: lib_path = File.join(directory, ''lib'') init_path = File.join(directory, ''...

Problems upgrading from 2.2.7a to 3.0.2a
...control panel, and another suprise, the icons on the left side of XP's two sides start menu, are gone. When I go to the display control panel, the theme box is entirely black, when you try to change any settings, you get "Cannot access C:\Windows\<some obscure file> error). I have dug and dug, I cannot find anything anywhere on the net about anyone having any problem even remotely similiar to this. Any help, is -greatly- appreciated. This is the most confounding issue I've ever seen. It's almost like the 'settings' for the profile aren't getting copied ove...

[4.8] unix extensions negotiation and os x
Does os x (10.13) support negotiation of unix extensions/CIFS? When hard links didn’t work I dug in and while I found info on CAP_UNIX, and added ‘unix extensions = yes’ globally, the Negotiation makes no mentions: Negotiate Protocol Request (0x00) Capabilities: 0x00000077, DFS, LEASING, LARGE MTU, PERSISTENT HANDLES, DIRECTORY LEASING, ENCRYPTION Negotiate Protocol Response (0x00) Capabilit...

[LLVMdev] Possibly using a broken version of GCC to build LLVM (file won't finish compiling).
...repository) is: gcc (GCC) 3.4.4 (release) (CodeSourcery ARM 2005q3-2) I'm kind of worried it may be a broken version as far as compiling for LLVM goes, but a lot of the docs and things on the LLVM website seem to be down this weekend. Anyways, if anyone has similar experience let me know. I dug around for some past mails on this list regarding building LLVM for this device, and all I found was something from LLVM-2.2 days. Unable to get dummy interfaces to persist across reboots in CentOS 8
...ules-load.d/dummy.conf dummy # cat /etc/modprobe.d/dummyopts.conf options dummy numdummies=4 # ip link add dummy0 type dummy ## - repeating a/ ascending dummyN adapters for as many needed # service network start # dracut -f Now this was different than even how 6 handled it, forget how I finally dug that up (possible I even asked here). I've applied this same configuration to a Cent8 box I'm trying to stand up and it all appears to work fine, but unlike the Cent7 boxes, when the Cent8 box comes back up, all the dummy adapters are missing. I've been searching all over trying to...

C-6, Gnome question
...e pixel in width, and I'm finding it increasingly hard to do (who, me? getting old? nah!) Wondering if there is a gnome setting somewhere among the myriad settings that could be used to configure the accuracy with which the mouse pointer must be placed so one can grab edges of things. I've dug thru the settings in the Gnome configuration editor, but so far nothing leaps out at me. Can anyone offer advice? thanks! -- ---- Fred Smith -- fredex at fcshome.stoneham.ma.us ----------------------------- The Lord detests the way of the wicked but he love...

using LDAP and PDC together
...ded by hand after using migrationtools from padl.com. Testing auth with smbclient works fine, however when using samba as a PDC from WinXP I can't log into the domain as I used to when "passdb backend = smbpasswd". However adding the machine to the domain seems to work. I haven't dug very deep into the problem, at this point I am just wondering if there is any known issue with using LDAP and PDC functionalities together? Also in the sambaAccount ldap object I noticed a mandatory "rid" field. What does relative id mean? I populated the rid's with unix id's, is...
