can't find tools/wineinstall
Howdy.
I have SuSE 7.2 and installed wine via YaST (wine rpm). I do not have
windows on my computer at all. The docs tell me to run
tools.wineinstall, but I do not seem to have that on my system.
I'm stuck. I've created C:\windows, C:\windows\system, etc. and I can
run the command wine --version, but that's it.
Ideas?
Thanks :)

rsync server service provider
Hi,
I want to backup data from my computer located at home to a server
located anywhere else and accessible through the Internet at any time.
Does anybody know any provider offering a storage service and an rsync
server service ?
Thank you very much for your answer ...

something wrong with the list (or its members)
I've noticed the list has pretty low answer:question ratio.
I tend to think that many replies go directly to people who post the
questions and those people never bother to share the answers with the
community. I don't think this is fair so we may want to do something in
this regard. We either need certain rules that will imply posting of
summaries (as {SUN,LINUX}managers lists do), or the

Files missing in Windows Explorer but really there in system
I'm having a very strange problem with Samba and Win2K. I did a
search in the archives and there was something about desktop.ini but
that wasn't it.
I'll explain in 2 parts, the problem and then I'll attach the [homes]
section of my smb.conf
I can see user's files on the Linux box (RedHat 7.3) under
/home/user/*
The user can open up M$ word and save a file to

Archive bit not changed if not owner?
We have a public share which is backed up from another machine, and use
the archive bits to detect if files have been modified.
If I create a file in the public share, the archive bit is set.
If I clear the archive bit, and then modify the file the archive bit is set.
On the other hand, if I modify a file that is owned by someone else, the
archive bit doesn't get set - any ideas on why this
