imap / 1,.0.5: Connection closed: Broken pipe
Hello *,
since the upgrade to version 1.0.5 (from 1.0.3) I observe lines of the form
imap(XXXXXXXX): Connection closed: Broken pipe
in the logfile, which I've never seen before.
What's behind? Should I care about?

Linux system crash - odd samba kernel messages
...ne has seen these before, maybe
they can tell me what they mean:
Last message before reboot:
Oct 26 12:24:03 whelk kernel: smb_put_inode: could not close
This one suggests to me that the file system had crashed for some reason,
so samba couldn't close an open file - but maybe I'm wrong.
Dubios messages following reboot:
Oct 26 11:43:48 whelk kernel: smb_dont_catch_keepalive: server->data_ready
== NULL
Oct 26 11:44:36 whelk kernel: smb_dont_catch_keepalive: sk->data_callback
!= smb_data_callback

Hello,
the dovecot-example.conf states:

Disconnected: Shutting down:
Hello,
dovecot-1.0.3 on Fedora 6 works perfect in general but sometimes the system
becomes unresponsive and the log file shows tons of messages like this:
... imap-login: Disconnected: Shutting down: 127.0.0.1, secured
... pop3-login: Disconnected: Shutting down: aa.bb.cc.dd
Restarting dovecot helps, but what's behind?
What can I do to prevent this?

SYN flooding / pipe() failed: Too many open files
Hello *,
I've the following problem with dovecot 1.0.7:
/var/log/messages shows

and /var/log/maillog shows (Please note: nearly the same time):
| Dec 13 13:48:28 mailbox dovecot: pipe() failed: Too many open files
This leads to an unresponsive mail service and requires a dovecot restart.

Convert plugin mbox to maildir has no effect
Convert plugin seems to have no effect with dovecot-1.0.rc26 and my settings.
When a user log, maildir creation is successful, but no mbox conversion occur.
New incoming mails are dropped into maildir, but I cant access those
in Mbox file.
I set the following in dovecot.con as describe on wiki.
mail_location: maildir:/var/mail/Maildir/%u
convert_mail: mbox:/var/mail:INBOX=/var/mail/%u
