Intel 10G X520-2 and iscsi storage poor performance
Hi,
we have a storageserver (Centos 6.4) with a dualport Intel 10G X520-2
Adapter.
A QSan P600Q-D316 Storage is configured with 8*SATA Drives raid 5 for
test, connected trought a Cisco UCS 6100 Series Fabric
Interconnect 10G Switch.
I formated the storage with ext4 defaults, one volume and got r/w rates
about 10MB/s some up to 40MB/s .... VERY POOR.......

HP MicroServer
A bit OT, but I'm running CentOS-5.6 on this machine
(in fact on two of them)
and it seems to run perfectly -
I've had no problems at all.
Except that I'd like to add a second ethernet port,
and am not sure where one can find a card that will fit this machine.
As far as I can see, it requires a half-height PCIe card,
which seems to be rather a rare animal.

CentOS failover cluster
What should I use to configure a failover cluster under CentOS? Is
there Red Hat Cluster Suite or something like that?
Thank you in advance.

My future plan
My future plan currently looks like this for my VPS hosting solution, so any feedback would be appreciated:
Each Node:
Dell R210 Intel X3430 Quad Core 8GB RAM
Intel PT 1Gbps Server Dual Port NIC using linux "bonding"
Small pair of HDDs for OS (Probably in RAID1)
Each node will run about 10 - 15 customer guests
Storage Server:
Some Intel Quad Core Chip
2GB RAM (Maybe more?)

iscsi conn error: Xen related?
...rational after
recovery (9 attempts)
Usually, this means loss of my Windows HVM machines.. paravirtualized
machines seem to handle that ok, oddly (qemu?).
I have read that this could be due to network state change/asymetric
routing.. but dunno really in my case. I have 4 network interfaces (2
dualport cards, Intel PRO/1000 MT):
- 1 is dedicated to storage, with jumbo frames enabled.
- 1 for admin tasks (web interface, ssh)
- 2 for various vlans used
Anyone experienced this already? Found a solution? Any recommendations?
Any help much welcome.
Thank you.
