Samba3b2, solaris, AD suport and libiconv.
Hi all, I am attempting to build samba3 beta2 for AD support, and I've run into a brick wall. I am using Solaris 2.7 and 2.9, with gcc 2.95.2, with krb5-1.2.8 and (now) libiconv-1.9.1 Firstly, I am getting errors of the like: Error loading module '/usr/local/samba/lib/charset/CP850.so': ld.so.1: ./smbclient: fatal: /usr/local/samba/lib/charset/CP850.so: open failed: No such file or

Prevention of outgoing file transfers?
Hi, Does anyone know if it is possible to firewall and/or configure rsync via a web proxy using RSYNC_PROXY to prevent push mode file transfers yet still allow pull mode? I am aware of Matt McCutchen's helpful distinction between the direction of an rsync connection and the direction of file transfer at at http://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2006-May/015595.html, but I am after

inconsistent results when calling functions with other func (PR#869)
Hello Bug people, I have an unexpected behavior and am unsure whether the problem is in my thinking, my implementation or the program R. Basically I get two different answers depending on how I call a function which takes other functions as arguments as indicated below. To me it should make no difference if f is a function that returns the function g then z(f(x)) whould give the same as y<-

[PATCH] Memory issue and cast causing failures when adding metadata
Hi, We are using the libFLAC++ library to encode FLAC files with Vorbis comments in them and have had the FLAC 1.1.2 version fail consistently (access violation or segmentation fault) on both Windows and Linux. We tracked this down to the metadata code in the C++ API. The problem is in src/libFLAC++/file_encoder.cpp. There are two problems - firstly, a C-style cast is hiding a bad conversion

Signed Dynamic DNS Updates with Internal DNS [SEC=UNCLASSIFIED]
UNCLASSIFIED I just installed SAMBA 4 as the PDC on a new standalone Windows network (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Samba4/HOWTO#Samba_AD_management). Everything appears to be working correctly except for signed dynamic updates. Non-secure updates work fine. I refer to a problem that appeared on the flac list last August that was either solved off-list or abandoned. (http://lists.xiph.org/pipermail/flac/2005-August/000468.html) The problem is with using the C++ encoder classes, particularly the FLAC::Encoder::File:set_metadata function. JC said that the developers version of how to add a simple metadata block looked right, but it did not work for

Trying to explain mutt+dovecot(ssl) to myself :(
Hi all, I have recently migrated my mail from courier-imap to dovecot. In doing so, I finally configured mutt to connect to imaps (SSL). In the end I got it all working. I then sat back and thought: "I kinda don't understand the SSL/TLS part even though it works". And I hate setting stuff up and not truely understanding the mechanics of it. So I started to write about it and am
