Win32 streamer?
Where do I get oddcast at? I did a search on winamp.com and nothing and I did a google group lookup to see if anyone was talking about it and I got back everything but what I was looking for. Simpal Question
Hi, have you the full url to that plug in as I cannot find it there sorry. Andrew
Hi: I would suggest using winamp with the oddcast DSP plugin from oddsock.org. You can get it to stream live input by using the advanced controls mode. Geoff.
-- Geoff Shang <gshang@uq.net.au> ICQ number 43634701 Make sure your E-mail can be read by everyone!

icecast 2.x & a control panel?
...cast2 has been up till now in the icecast bitkeeper repository. Jack posted a couple of days ago that it would be moving to the xiph.org CVS. You can also get an August 7 snapshot from http://i.cantcode.com/~jack/ and versions for win32 and freebsd from http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2/ (hmmm I see dsp_oddcast beta28 is in there also). > 2. Vorbis streaming
Hi. Can anyone tell me the best way to stream Ogg Vorbis to an Icecast2 or compatible server under Windows? I would need something that doesn't rely heavily on graphics, as I have a blind friend who wishes to be able to do this. Thanks, Lorenzo
--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list,

I used to use the shoutcast plugin on windows but,

alternatives to liveice and darkice
are there any decent alternatives to live audio streaming [via. soundcard] to darkice or liveice? after a few days fighting with darkice, i finally managed to bring it up only to see that it takes 55% of my cpu just to encode one 128kbps stream using libmp3lame. a similar 128kbps stream only takes up 36% cpu using liveice. maybe i have something configured wrong, but i was sortof expecting darkice

...CVS, at least that's how I do it.) Also, Oddsock has ported and compiled Icecast2 as a win32 binary and offers it for everyone to test on http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2/ . Comfy Ogg streaming with Winamp or XMMS as the source is also done with a tool from Oddsock: http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/ This all is still quite a hassle, but definitely worth the efforts. Icecast2 works perfectly for my puny once-in-a-while streaming and it has proven to work for big streamers like BBC, too. Icecast1 is obsolete for me now, especially since Winamp has now native support for playing Ogg streams. No...

[Re: icecast2 ??]
Dear list, I agree with the main points that have been stated here lately -- icecast2 appears not ready for prime time (because of lack of web presence / tarball and rpm downloads / some documentation on line) and icecast1 community needs a support forum if this list no longer is one. It would be so simple to spell out the statuses on www.icecast.org -- Status of icecast1, status of

...r of users...it at least passes the "good network and small number of users tests"... however, your client support for icecast2 mp3 metadata streaming is a bit limited at this time..I've added support in oddcast (you'll need the latest oddcast at http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dsp_oddcast/dsp_oddcast_01022003.exe) and adding support for other mp3 source clients is pretty simple (if anyone needs the info on how to do mp3 metadata in your source client, let me know and I can provide whatever info you need)... additionally, icecast2 yp is coming along....and if anyone is also inte...

Re: ASCAP/BMI and college stations (fwd)
Here is the response from my friend. I would venture to say that if we were reporting to them then someone was paying a fee. Sean... >>>> Sean, In MTSU's case, I think their ASCAP/BMI license covers everything, including WMOT and WMTS... I know WMTS didn't have to pay ASCAP/BMI fees....but..they had to report their playlists to them...which was a pain in the ass.... -M
