Question about WD drives with Super Microsystems
...roblem exists.
The smicro board is total sh*t despite using an lsi expander chip.
We are building a backblaze like bulk storage setup. Can''t find a dense chassis like sc847 and hoping to convince supermicro to create -a version of the jbod.
Hoping I can convince lsi/netapp to sell me DS6600 tray or nexsan E60x or DDN S26000 without their gold plated drives.
Or just don''t buy WD drives. Only hitachi/ibm or seagate NL SAS are any good.
God''s work is never done; neither apparently VDOTs.
