direct local access to Xen without libvirtd
Hi all. I'm just new to libvirt.
Looking page here http://libvirt.org/drvxen.html , there are examples of connection URIs to Xen.
xen:/// (local access, direct)
xen+unix:/// (local access, via daemon)
xen://example.com/ (remote access, TLS/x509)
xen+tcp://example.com/ (remote access, SASl/Kerberos)
xen+ssh://roo...

How to use xl (in place of xm) with libvirt 1.0.2 and Xen 4.2.1 in Ubuntu 13.04?
...ted
in favor of libxl, also commonly called libxenlight. libvirt supports this
new Xen toolstack via the libxl driver. If XenD is enabled, the legacy xen
driver consisting of the above mentioned channels will be used. If XenD is
disabled, the libxl driver will be used."
See http://libvirt.org/drvxen.html.
In view of the above, I attempted to use xl in place xm by setting
TOOLSTACK=xl in /etc/default/xen. And after doing so (both with and
without, the above mentioned tweaks to /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp), I
recieved the following error when attempting to start virt-manager:

Re: libvirt for Citrix XenServer
...//www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/libvirt-users
Navin, I don't think libvirt supports Citrix XenServer hypervisors. per the libvirt.org only following hypervisors are supported :
* The KVM/QEMU<http://libvirt.org/drvqemu.html> Linux hypervisor
* The Xen<http://libvirt.org/drvxen.html> hypervisor on Linux and Solaris hosts.
* The LXC<http://libvirt.org/drvlxc.html> Linux container system
* The OpenVZ<http://libvirt.org/drvopenvz.html> Linux container system

Does libvirt support xapi/xe toolstack?
...wrong with this assumption or is there something to configure
to be able to use libvirt with Xapi/XE toolstack? I looked in the
documentation but I only found [2] but I didn't see any special
settings...

Error starting stubdom HVM on Xen-3.4.3-rc4-pre
Hi there,
Last night I was trying to start a HVM domU via stubdom-dm device model. Initially I did not receive any error to stdout when I did so with Xen-3.4.2.
My Xen-3.4.2 installation works fine with qemu-dm (or regular HVM guests). The stubdom-dm guest I was trying to create did not really operate as I was unable to connect to the VNC console. The output of xm list showed the DomU was there,

Xen 3 vs Xen 4
Hi;
Currently I am running xen 3.4.2 on one of my Centos servers , I want
to upgrade to latest version of xen but I dont know if I should
upgrade to latest branch of xen 3 or xen 4 ? is xen 4 backward
compatible with xen 3 VMs ? does it provide any performance benefit
compared to xen 3 ?
What is your recommendation ?
