substitute() reading data instead of name
...10.4.11 Intel w/ 2.70 and the latest Rgui.
What I see is that 'xlab' properly has the name of the data I entered
for the x-input. But 'ylab' contains the string ' c( {all the data
values in the y-input vector}) ' .
If I un-comment the 'cat(ylab)' line or the 'dreck<-y' line, or if I
create yy<-y and use yy from there on out, everything works properly.
So, is this a bug, or am I a foolish n00b, or do I need to "flush"
something?
thanks for your help.

Question on server speed
...lows.
Back when we had serial mice, the most common data rate was 1200 bps. That?s 0.0012 Mbit/sec. If your 480 Mbit/sec USB-2 or 5/10/20 Mbit/sec USB-3 bus is so jammed up that it can?t trickle through that much data per second from the mouse while an SSD on the same bus is blocked on I/O, it?s dreck hardware.

switching to smbldap-tools from custom scripts
...n importing just the ldap records for existing users and machines. So
then I could test linux authentication vs the new machine while the old
machine is still up.
But I don't actually know how to extract the data I need from the old ldap
database. And maybe it would be safer to let the old dreck in there. But
how does the smbldap-tools populate script know about existing machines?
