Therefore, I've hacked out the following patch to change what may be
"dangerous" memcpy's to memmove. Take a look and see what you think.

RE: [SLE] SuSE 9.3 and Latest Binaries - Library Conflict
Cross-posting scares me, but...
Have you looked at the latest RPMs for SuSE, from ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/projects/samba/ ?
They've worked like a charm for me, thus far (revision after revision, a simple rpm -U * seems to work...)

Release 1.2pre15 coming soon?
Given that we've had several major patches of late, is there any chance
that pre15 could get released within the next couple of days?
Thanks,

openssh-2.1.0p3 & NetBSD 1.4.2
I have a need to set up an ssh login server that groks both ssh1 and
ssh2. I'm trying to build openssh-2.1.0p3 on NetBSD 1.4.2. Configure
fails when it tries to build the test program conftest. It's not
obvious fron config.log exactly what is going wrong.
Has anyone built that latest openssh under NetBSD 1.4.2?
Thanks in advance.

Please Make 3.0.23a SuSE .rpms available
Jerry, Lars, all:
Can you repost the 3.0.23a rpms for SuSE 10. I am dead in the water
after installing 3.0.23b. I would like to reload 3.0.23a to get things back
to normal. If anybody else has a link I would use, I'd be very thankful.

SOCKS support
Just a warning and a call to action:
Theo de Raadt has convinced me to remove SOCKS support from our port
of OpenSSH.
His argument is that it can be easily and generically implemented as
a ProxyCommand. This fits with my desire to keep our divergences from
the OpenBSD codebase to a minimum.
This looks like a few hours work (for someone more familiar the SOCKS
API that I). It is basically a

Mostly good news on the NeXT front.
I'll be able to test on next 4.2 after the initial 3.3 port.
I have a vsnprintf/snprintf that compiles (works?) on NeXT. Not sure how
portable nor if it truely solves the security issue (it's from the
comp.sys.next.programmer fokes). Plus NeXT 3.3 (not sure about 4.2 yet)
lacks a putenv(). I found one that compiles cleanly from the GNU libc
fokes. Which brings up licensing issues.

Releasing a code version that stays for a while
...table, might it be possible
to either have the next release stick around until 1.2.1 goes gold, or
(even better) a bug-patch-only 1.2.1 branch be forked off before more
enhancements start entering the tree?
Thanks,
David
