Why is it such a drama? Do you need to reboot the server so often
it's wearing the carpet out?
Also, I'd suggest you check whether Samba is started before or
after the print spooler, and if this makes a difference.

Using the new approach I posted to samba-list earlier today, it is not
really all that tricky any more. Watch for my reports on the list, you
may be able to implement what I've done
