Vorbis primitive API examples (LONG)
Okay, how do I drop a changeset/patchset/tag for you folks from SVN? At this point, I have written three examples of how to use the basics of the ogg streaming and decoding in Tremor. I heartily welcome any suggestions, improvements and corrections that you can point out in the code. The examples required me to make some small modifications to the main tremor library. However, the changes

[PATCH 0/1] dprintf: add debug console support
This patch adds support for printing messages through a debug console. QEMU, for example, supports this through the debugcon facility. The benefit is that it's *much* faster than printing over a serial port. To print to I/O port 0x402 (the default used by SeaBIOS and OVMF), add "-DDEBUG_IO_PORT=0x402 -DCORE_DEBUG=1" to the build CFLAGS. To enable a debug console in QEMU that

...serial port, anything I add will whizz off the screen. >From looking at com32/include/dprintf.h, it looks as though all this does is to define dprintf to printf, so why is it that if don't define DEBUG_STDIO and CORE_DEBUG, and just use printf directly, nothing appears? I assume (given the dprintfs) that ldlinux.c32 is loaded by the time pxe_init is run, so printf calls should be legal. What am I missing? Cheers, Patrick

PostgreSQL driver supporting [round-robin] load balancing and redundancy [LONG]
One of the things my employer uses dovecot for is as mail download server for an 'e-mail purification service' (AV/ anti-spam) for smartphones. The service itself presently runs on a rented server somewhere in the UK and the corresponding 'web service' front-end and user account/ mail account database resides on a server in Germany. The UK dovecot server uses the PostgreSQL server

[RFC][PATCH] Use ioemu block drivers through blktap
When I submitted the qcow2 patch for blktap, suggestions came up that the qemu block drivers should be used also for blktap to eliminate the current code duplication in ioemu and blktap. The attached patch adds support for a tap:ioemu pseudo driver. Devices using this driver won''t use tapdisk (containing the code duplication) any more, but will connect to the qemu-dm of the domain. [PATCH 00/12] elflink shrinkage
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> This is a series of patches that, * shrink the core by moving things into an ldlinux ELF module * begin wiring up some of the C versions of various functions The core now only contains essential code and loads the ldlinux module to do everything else, like providing a command line interface and loading kernels. Little help with blk ring
Hello List, I have a small problem with the ring when transferring blocks the id on the response is different from the request. This is the boot up read, count 0. The guest requests block 0, it has to be located at 7c00. I go ahead and create a REQUEST with this data: ring_req = RING_GET_REQUEST(priv,priv->req_prod_pvt); ring_req->id = 9; ring_req->nr_segments=1; ring_req->operation

unify core printf()/dprintf(): thoughts?
If I understand correctly, the Linux kernel has a function printk() designed for most printing functions where a string prefix determines where the message is seen. Would something like this be useful in Syslinux? As I see it, there's essentially 3 separate printing methods with an additional variation. Goals: - To keep data size smaller, avoid 2+ identical static strings (akin to {

[libnbd PATCH] tests: Make errors more robust under load
When run under valgrind, the 'errors' test would sometimes fail because a single NBD_CMD_WRITE managed to actually send() the entire packet to the server without blocking the state machine. To make things more robust, switch to a server which is serialized (memory is parallel, but sh is serial), and which intentionally does not read a second command until the first is processed, then
