looking for better graphical download manager for X / KDE / Gnome
Hi all, I currently use kget to download files, but find it lacks a lot of features, like bandwidth throttling, auto-resume when internet disconnects & reconnects, download from multiple locations, browser integration, etc. FreeDownloadManager for Windows does all of the above quite well, but I don't use Windows @ home. So, does anyone know of a good alternative to use? I have searched

2 GB file size limit with libsmbclient and Filesys::SmbClient perl module?!
...32-bit installation of Arch Linux and I have developed my own little script (in perl) for downloading files over SMB/CIFS using multiple TCP connections to speed up the transfer. I have googled a lot but could not find any good download accelerator for files hosted over SMB/ CIFS. For example, the DownThemAll firefox add-on allows you to download files hosted over SMB/ CIFS, but is not able to speed it up using multiple parallel connections. Downloading zip files
I have not had a great amount of success installing/updating packages from the "Packages" menu of Rgui under Windows XL. (Except for installing from loacal zip files.) But I am not asking for help in using these facilities because I prefer to keep a folder of package zip files. On the other hand I do find it tedious having to right-click "Save link as" on every individual

R binaries
Dear Rexperts, I intend to burn some R CDs to colleagues in Vietnam. I want to put all binary files for base as well as contributed packages (for both Windows and Linux). It is very time consuming if I download files by files. Is there a place a can buy a CD with all the mentioned files?
