Hello, it's the first time for me writing to the list, I'm trying to change the location into which the Dovecot's locks are done reserving a special temporary directory on an other partition, then adding to the dovecont.conf the line: mail_location = maildir:~/Maildir:VOLATILEDIR=/tmp_lock/%2.256Nu/%u so that through the VOLATILEDIR directive the locks should be written in this path. We observe though that the locks for many users are still done in the real maildir (NFS mounted filesystem) as if in some situatio...

I tried deleting them and installing a handcrafted cert with this: openssl genrsa -out mail.key 2048 openssl req -new -key mail.key -out mail.csr openssl x509 -req -days 4312 -in mail.csr -out mail.cert -signkey mail.key after that i tried to update the dovecont.conf to point to the new files. But dovecot refuses to read them, i allways get an error, that dovecot can't read the certificate file. hello, to use dovecot 1.2 only for sasl authentication I could set "protocols = none" in dovecont.conf. In Version2 this gave me an error. Instead I had to write "protocols =" into the configfile. i recently upgraded a server from dovecot 2.1 to 2.3 unfortunately sieve does not appear to be working. The user scripts have not changed, and neither has the dovecont config. using managesieve allows me to create new sieve files and setting one as default updates the link in ~/ to point to the correct file, but the .dovecot.svbin file is not changed (unless i run sievec /home/username/.dovecot.sieve ) I have tested an out of office script that was working on...

Hola, Debian (and possibly other distros) use the /etc/dovecot/conf.d/* setup where default config files are stuffed and then one can just add a 99-myconfig.conf et voila, variables are overruled. This allows the distro to supply updates to the files at package upgrade time without any/much user intervention. The problem (for me ;) is that the system comes provided with: auth-system.conf.ext
