Folder not visible - after migration ( Squirrel Mail )
Hello,
We did migration from old version postfix to new version postfix (2.3).
>From old dovcot 0.99 to dovcot 1.0 rc2 and we rsynched /Home of old box to new /Home 1:1
After migration we are not able to see customise the folders in squirrel mail interface.
What could be the reason.
Regards,
Sumit

Suggestion for comments. Why not support this syntax for comments as
well as #

It will allow for neater looking config files.

dovcot+offlineimap+gmail: INBOX empty, mail doubled
Hello
I have used for years
offlineimap-6.2.0
dovecot-imapd 1:1.2.9
in Kubuntu 10.04
Together with a imap server of my university. Yesterday we
switched to google, which I know, is not a real imap server.
I have 2 problems and the first I think has to do with
either an old version of offlineimap or a bad configuration file:
- All folders are downloaded+ Gmail[All Mail] so

[Dovcot 2.2.2] Q: Prequisits for compiling and plugins
Hi
Where can i find the list of prerequisites for compiling dovocot 2.2.2
form the sources, is there a dedicated link or what terms i should best
use to search the archives of this mailing list, the documentation or
the web?
Where do I find information (links or search terms) whether plugins
available for 1.x 2.1.x series, especially the metadata plugin, are
still needed for 2.2.2 or may even

limiting number of login attempts from same ip
Hello,
is it possible to limit the number of pop3 (or imap) login attempts
from one IP with dovecot to stop attackers? We recently had an attack
from one IP-address lasting 50 minutes that tried 50000 pop3-logins
with guessed users and passwords. I know about Fail2Ban but really
would prefer an easy to configure solution inside of dovecot. Dovecot
has this anvil daemon, can it be used

Users can't use Dovecot IMAP
Every time a user logs into Dovcot's IMAP service PAM closes the session immediately after it opens. I would like a user to have a session open long enough to read some emails.

mbox 2 Maildir
W/o downtime: see the wiki page below, the "Converting" section.
Briefly for my case something like this should work and generally seems
simple (no syntax checking yet, pseudo-code like):
* Configuration uses mail_location = mbox:~/mails
* setup per-user mail location and do for each user individually in a
serial manner:
-- doveadm sync maildir:~/Maildir; mbox is synced to Maildir,

Dovecot does not recognize imported messages
Today I tried to import mail directly on the server's home directory on
the server. I copied it directly. I didn't use the imap protocol. Dovcot
didn't recognize these emails. I didn't display these imported emails on
my page, recalculating disk quotas. It will not increase the used
capacity. I try to send an email to this user, dovcot recognizes all the
emails, and recalculates

dovecot: lda(foo): Error: User foo doesn't have home dir set, disabling duplicate database
Hello everyone,
I have a small problem with dovecot installed on ubuntu-13.10. I use
dovcot as LDA with a LDAP-passdb and a pam-passdb. The userdb is static.
A mail to LDAP-user 'foo' is delivered with the error-message
dovecot: lda(foo): Error: User foo doesn't have home dir set, disabling
duplicate database
A mail to the pam-user 'bar' will deliverd without this error.

Dovecot Performance Issues on VMWARE Esxi
Hello,
I'm new to dovcot, but have serious issues with dovecot and IMAP.
I'm struggling with low IMAP performance but have no glue, where to start my
search.
It is a small office setup. 10 Mailaccounts. Mine is the biggest with 4GB in
size. But searching for mail takes several seconds... Zu switch to specific
folder also takes some seconds. To long in my opinion.
I use esxi 6.0

multiple logins that use the samemailbox
Version: 2.2.27 (c0f36b0)
Hi,
I inhertited a mailsetup that allow users to login to pop/imap with up
to three different user names for the same mailbox. We use SQL and I
think I can manage that with just pointing to the same mailbox with the
same userid.
But I also use the quota plugin. And the quota plugin users the username
(full e-mail address) to identify a mailbox. That can probably be
