OpenSSH3.0p1/PAM/Sol8
Hi there, I just tried out OpenSSH3.0p1 running on Solaris 8 with PAM (--with-PAM). The problem was mentioned some time ago and is still there :-( When a password is expired you are prompted to change it now, enter your login password and after doing so you are instantly disconnected. I think this is a problem with PAM and not SSH, but how can I get a solution on this ? sshd is running without

sshd can't change expired password on Sol8 with Openssh3.0p1 + PAM
The reason I ask about the patches is because I think the problem you're seeing might actually be a bug in pam_unix.so.1 - it's something to try at least. We don't use password aging and we don't use the "passwd" command to change passwords, so we haven't run into this at our site even though we probably don't have pam_unix.so patched up. Also, the passwd

locked account accessable via pubkey auth
maybe this is a silly question ;-) But why is it possible to login on a machine with a locked account (passwd -l ) via pubkey-authentication (authorized_keys) ? I use OpenSSH3.01p1on Solaris8 with PAM support so I thought this should not happen. If this is the normal behaviour and built in intentionally what would be the easiest way to lock an account without deleting the users authorized_keys ?

Centos OS Crash Recovery, Inquiry.
Actually, I am not sure if we have a backup, because honestly, I am not that very much familiar with Centos. We use it for our mail sever for zimbra and other web servers but after setting it up, as long it is working just fine we don't do any other thing. Does it have an automatic backup system? And if it does, how can we use it to restore it back? Thanks. Regards, CHRIS ----- Original

apt pinning specific dovecot version
I currently have the dovecot-core package from wheezy-backports pinned on one of my servers to version '2.2.9', which has been working great. I now want to upgrade that to the newest version under wheezy-backports which is: dovecot-core (1:2.2.13-11~bpo70+1) but I can't figure out how to get do it. I've tried a few different formats of the name but apt-get update then apt-get

Another round of testing calls.
Outside the known 'Hang-on-exit' bug and the Solaris 'PAM_TTY_KLUDGE' required. *WHAT* other issues *MUST* be address before 3.0 which is approaching fast? Those running NeXTStep I need conformation that it works under NeXT. My current Slab is packed in a storage unit due to a fire in my apartment complex (happened above me so I'm wrapping up dealing with that crap =). -

Centos OS Crash Recovery, Inquiry.
There is software out there which will rebuild. It is advanced level, so I would concur with the others to take it to a professional data recovery service. Most importantly at this moment is to remove the hard drive, or at least shut down the server to minimize the read/write to the disk. The more writes done the less likely recovery will be possible. Also, know whether you just want to

I've configured samba4 as PDC according to the official HOWTO. create a pairwise coocurrence matrix
Hi all, I am trying to construct a pairwise coocurrence matrix for certain terms appearing in a number of documents. For example I have the following table with binary values showing the presence or absence of a certain term in a document: term1 term2 term3 term4 term5 doc1 1 1 0 0 1 doc2 1 1 0 1 1 doc3 1 0 0 0 1 And I want to have a matrix with the number of the pairwise coocurrencies. So,

Change ciphers on samba
Hello, I do vulnerability test on my infrastructure, and I get report about weak ciphers on samba services, is it possible to set stronger ciphers for samba? On old samba3 that was possible to set "ssl ciphers" in smb.conf, but now I don't see any documentation how to change it. Is it possible, if so, how? -- Arkadiusz Karpi?ski Efinity Sp. z o.o. 02-672 Warszawa, ul.
