FastCGI vs. Simple CGI
I''ve seen several postings where FastCGI is being used with RoR projects, yet, most of the material I''ve read (Dave Thomas'' book, online articles, etc) recommend not using FastCGI anymore because it is a dormant project and hasn''t been updated since 2003 (I think???). So, I went out and got Simple CGI instead. It had to be compiled and installed from source on my Suse boxes, but it works just fine and had the advantage of also working just fine on my XP notebook. Is there a reason folks are u...

IdleTimeout patch did not get in?
...cumstance is that I've a SSH2 session from a laptop (PuTTY) to a OpenSSH server. When the laptop goes into standby or hibernates, and then is re-started after around 8 hours, the SSH session gets a network disconnect error". Since hibernate implies the client and the network connection is dormant, I am wondering if the IdleTimeout might help (maybe not?) If anyone has any other options that would allow an server to not disconnect a client even the connection is dormant - or maybe this is not possible? - let me know! Hate having to re-connect every 8 hours!

winbind sometimes does not resolve sid to a name
Sometimes a group sid does not get resolved to its name. Is this a settings problem? Looks like winbind deamon went dormant for a while and then woke up? I am using interface wbcLookupSid provided by the library libwbclient.so for resolving sids to names. These are the winbind related parameters in /etc/samba/smb.conf [global] # separate domain and username with '\', like DOMAIN\username winbind separator = \...

SquidGuard update in EPEL
...zzled. I'm still using SquidGuard on a few local proxy servers running CentOS 7, because it's a nifty piece of software for filtering web traffic. The project's home page has remained unchanged for more than ten years: * http://www.squidguard.org/ It looks like the project has been dormant or dead for quite some time. I've been looking for a replacement for SquidGuard, but haven't been lucky yet. Anyone else has more information on SquidGuard, or suggestions for a replacement? %user hack still available ?
hi, does anybody know, if the famous "//server/share%user - hack" is still included in the latest sources? Does it lie dormant somewhere there and can be included by some "#def" ? Or does anybody know of a windows 95/98 gui/commandline-tool, where you can enter the password AND username to connect to a share ? Thanks in advance for your help. Solon

[LLVMdev] Optimization of sqrt() with invalid argument

My guess would be that people don't tend to run with -ffast-math (it's got a reputation for breaking code, even ignoring this particular issue). Without that, from what I can see the issue won't arise. But that doesn't ac...

Request for the Admin
...A few mailing list search repositories / engines had kept caching the Syslinux mailing list until a few months ago, even after Google stopped. I know of at least one such mailing list search repository / engine based on Google results which eventually moved the Syslinux mailing list to "dormant" state. This was on May or June 2013. The reason this type of searches are important is that users are repeating their questions (typically, related to newer versions of Syslinux), and I am sure that much time would be saved if a simple web search would provide a meaningful result. If the...

Multiple mounts instead of remounting?
I'm having issues trying to remount any shares using samba. Super Short version mount -o remount /some_windows_share creates a duplicate mount instead of properly remounting. Full details... I have many shares served off of NT4 boxes, mounted via samba on a linux box (RHEL 4). Since long dormant (>12 hour) shares from one server in particular always have problems for a few seconds when accessing files, I altered my scripts to mount -o remount. I expected it would freshen the mount. Instead of doing a remount however, it appears to be mounting _over_ the original. Not really what I w...

Mailing list and project shutdown announcement?
If everything has moved and this mailing list has gone dormant, how about an official announcement as well as official pointers to the new stuff? It would also be good to have some sort of "migration document" given that you have to do specific things to OPUS in order to get the old CELT behavior. Thanks, -a

By the way, is anybody working on the "real" command line utility? It seems to have been dormant for a while. Is there a FC8 update repo out there?
So I need python 2.5.1, and all of its dependecies. And 2.5.1 is at least in FC8. So this leads to wanting to try to do the update right via yum, thus needing a repo. Does such a thing exist? I find a directory out there, but no repodata directory with it: http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/updates/testing/8/
