traffic normalizer for ipfw?
Hi there, Is there some way to configure ipfw to do traffic normalizing ("scrubbing", as in ipf for OpenBSD)? Is there any tool to do it for FreeBSD firewalling? I've heard that ipf was ported on current, anything else? TIA, /Dorin. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! improve ipfw rules
>> 3. I'm intrested in blocking kazaa/P2P trafic with IPFW any help in this issue you could possibly block connections at known p2p ports. deny tcp from any to any 6699 step but most of the newer protocols use dynamic ports and in turn, are configurable. so ipfw isn't exactly ideal on it's own for this. -r. -----Original Message----- From: Pons [mailto:pons@gmx.li] Sent:

man install procedure fix
Hello all! I found a little bug in the rsync v3.0.2 install, that is if you separate the build (output) folder from the source folder, the man files fail to install because they are generated in the output folder, but the install target searches them in the source folder. I attach a small patch that solves this problem. Thanks all, Ciprian Craciun. P.S.: I'm not on the

Hi, THe problem is described in: http://sunsolve.sun.com/pub-cgi/retrieve.pl?doc=fsalert/57613 Does anybody know if native built java port ver. 1.4.2-p6 is affected by this? If yes, does reinstalling the port using the new Sun archive solves the issue? TIA, /Dorin. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Preserving ext2-4 attributes
I have searched for this topic on the mailing list and on Google without finding anything. Is this already a well known issue? The problem is that rsync does not preserve ext2-4 attributes (even when using the -a, -A, and -X flags). Note that these are different from extended attributes: Extended attributes are manipulated using programs such as getfattr and setfattr (on Unix-like systems),

I am not sure if I had a compromise but I am not sure I wanted some other input. I noticed in this in my daily security run output: pc1 setuid diffs: 19c19 < 365635 -rwsr-xr-x 1 root wheel 204232 Sep 27 21:23:19 2003 /usr/X11R6/bin/xscreensaver --- > 365781 -rwsr-xr-x 1 root wheel 205320 Dec 4 07:55:59 2003 /usr/X11R6/bin/xscreensaver It was the only file listed and I didn't

Regarding an "earlier" variant of `pre-xfer exec` [feature request and proposed patch]
(I think the subject is quite descriptive; however for use-cases and details see bellow after the mention of the old conversation and the patch.) Searching the mailing list about this topic yields an old conversation about this from 2008: * https://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2008-November/022148.html * https://lists.samba.org/archive/rsync/2008-November/022150.html I'll quote

mtree vs tripwire
Hi all. This might seem really naive, but can mtree be used effectively as a native-to-core-OS tripwire equivalent? Would it be as efficient in terms of time-to-run and resource requirements? What sort of pitfalls should I be aware of? Has anyone here done this? If so, would you care to share your scripts/techniques? Thanks, Dave -- ______________________

Programmatic management alternatives of Xen domains
Hello all! We (my colleagues and I) want to integrate Xen into an infrastructure management platform, and would like to programmatically manage Xen domains (creating, querying, migrating, etc.). So I''ve done a small search on the "web" for a Xen API, and I''ve found the following alternatives. Alternatives (are there any other ones?): * XenApi (
