911 and Cops knocking on my door
...it.
I have a very basic asterisk setup. 1 x100p card and a grandstream
handytone 286. I can make calls fine to most phone numbers from the
handytone device the trouble seems to come when I dial this number
591-1079. It puts me through to the local 911 dispatch. Causing the
police to show up at my doorstep and check to make sure everything is
alright.
I can see why I think; 5 "911" 079. But I don't understand why it is
being handled this way. Can somebody offer me some guidance on how to
get this to stop?
TIA

parsing the input data from socket is real pain. Parsing strings...are
fun, but I had no idea..how do i go abt objects.
But this release of backgroundrb fills the gap.

Mongrel Cluster init.d problems
I have installed mongrel and mongrel_cluster fine and have them
running great with my app. I tried using the init.d script provided
with mongrel_cluster 2.1 to start it up on boot but it doesn''t.
mongrel_cluster_ctl works fine for me by hand and so does
/etc/init.d./mongrel_cluster start. I am on Debian so I installed the
service links with sudo update-rc.d mongrel_cluster defaults. And

user@host in AllowUsers
I have a number of development machines behind my OpenBSD firewall which all
provide a very permissive development account (and easy sudo). I don't want
this account exposed on the internet side of the firewall, so I created a
doorstep account with no perms and really long passwords to get anywhere
useful.
I looked through the SSH book and it gave me the impression that I could set
up these rules:
AllowUsers wiz@*.myhouse.nat
AllowUsers doorstep@*
But when I tested it was clear that OpenSSH 2.9 doesn't support this synta...

Samba shares and samba server residing on different physical machines
Hi fellow Members!I'm Systems administrator at a school using SAMBA 4 as AD DC.
As you know, WIN11 is at the doorstep and my "old" Samba4 Server (4.9) doesn't serve Windows Servers (Server 2019) very well,
e.g. the latest issue is that the domain administrator cannot access the GPO's or other informations from the Samba-LDAP (authentication failure ?).
I think that it has possibly to do with the...

Are you seriously trying to run 4 cards in one system? The odds of
getting that working are about the odds of Angelina Jolie showing up on
my doorstep ready to whisk me off to....but I digress...you will have
serious interrupt issues trying to get 4 cardss working in one system. I
am surprised that you would fork for a PRI card but use cheap winmodems
for analog lines. You will have much better luck tossing the "x100p"
cards and using e...

I''m very interested in using backgroundrb for running jobs every n minutes.
The release notes say that this functionality is not yet ready via
backgroundrb. But I wonder, can I call backgroundrb with a ruby script
from cron ?
I know I could create a cron job that calls lynx (or whatever) on a
specific page that will call backgroundrb, but I want to know if there
