Doom Builder 1
My primary use for Wine is to run an application called Doom Builder 1.86. It's a GUI-based level editor for the 1994 id Software game Doom. It is available at http://www.doombuilder.com/
In Wine versions 1.3.28 and below this has always run without major problems, the only "workarounds" being to put msvbsm60.dll and oleaut32.dll in the program folder, and set oleaut32 native in

ATI fglrx + wine ==> The Checkerboard of Doom
...as it was called on Phoronix forums.
After this (http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=2066) discussion, I have decided to give the ATI/AMD fglrx drivers another go... and immediately remembered why I gave them up in the first place.
That was version 8.5. Now, two versions after (yes, I've overslept a whole release, and I feel fascinatingly relaxed after that), the problem persists.

[LLVMdev] [Reminder] Impending Doom^H^H^H^HLLVM 3.4 Branching!
Just a reminder, LLVM 3.4 will be branching tomorrow:
Monday, November 18, 2013 at 7:00:00 PM PST / Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 3:00:00 AM UTC
All new features should be near finished. :-) Now, this doesn’t mean that that’s the last time code can be checked into the branch. However, it is the last time code can be checked in without approval by the code owner.
Please please please keep on

Eliminar filas que cumplen con mas de un criterios simultaneamente ...
Hola de nuevo. Leí mal. Si vas a eliminar esas filas, entonces usa:
sqldf("select * from graph where sol!='lim' and dia!=2")
En el correo anterior seleccioné precisamente a esas descartando a las
demás.
Culpa de mis anteojos... jeje.

Running an old Win95 game
I'm fairly new when it comes to using WINE and Linux (although I have a barebones Unix background), so bear with me. :)
I'm running WINE on a 4G Eee PC (running Xandros in KDE mode, not tabbed "Easy mode") and trying to experiment with what WINE can run on this little thing.
I recently tried running an old Win95 version of DooM (doom95.exe, so-called "Ultimate

Using a subversion repository to spec in a rails app
Is it a bad practice to use a subversion repository to the trunk of
rspec and rspec_on_rails? Or rather, is it doomed to fail, since my
gem will always be out of date?
I know I can''t use spec, installed from gem,s if I have the latest
revision of rspec and rspec_on_rails checked into my plugins
directory. But I should still be able to use it with the --drb
option, correct?
I''m having a...

questions about bug 5535
...ly applied to the 3.3 series.
Does the closing comment in https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5535
mean that the inconsistencies about RID calculation won't be addressed
in the 3.0 and 3.2 series?
Does the fact that 3.3.2 always uses sambaNextRid mean that algorithmic
RID allocation is doomed to obsolescence?

many small files bug
Hi!
I try to copy a lot of little files between a Linux and a Tru64 (I
successfully compiled rsync on a tru64, it needed a little cosmetics), but
it throws me this error (rsync 2.5.5 on both machines):
779300 files...rsync: error writing 4092 unbuffered bytes - exiting:
Broken pipe
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(463)
The command line was:

upgrading Mysql 5.0.95
Hi All,
I'm getting things ready to upgrade my aging installation of MySQL
5.0.95 on my CentOS 5 LAMP server. With the impending EOL date of 3.31
fast approaching my sense of doom and urgency is increasing.
I see that the necessary packages are available in @base and @updates -
mysql51 and mysql55 respectively but from all the information I've read
on the matter so far I'm left with

S4: inheritance of validity methods?
...)
new("B", a=11, b=33)
Error in validObject(.Object) :
invalid class "B" object: Number of slots must be 2
Error, because an object of class "A" is passed to validObject with one
slot "b" removed and n=2.
Is were a work around for this, or I am just doomed to write the same
validity method for each children class?
Many thanks,
Vitalie.

Encoding y (r)Jython.-
Hola,
Tengo un problemillo con el encoding de unas palabras y trabajarlas en R
por medio de rJython.
Os explico: cuando quiero utilizar cualquier dato que contenga acentos o

obtengo un error. Ejemplo, en R:

pgadmin3
Anyone been able to get pgadmin3 installed on CentOS-4 ?
The WxGTK2 stuff makes it impossible for me to get installed from
RPM/SRPM from their site and likewise, couldn't rebuild from Fedora
SRPMS either.
I figure between Jim and Owen and ???, somebody might have succeeded
where I would be doomed. I can get around with phppgadmin but pgadmin3
is pretty cool.
Thanks

directx
Where can i get the wine equvilent to directx, and for that matter where is
a good place to get .dll equivilents in general.
I am trying to install Doom 95, but it searches for directx and wine cann
ot locate its directx equiv. so the assumption would be that they didn't
install.
I am using a wine version written for mandrake 8.0, if that helps.
Thx in advance,

Proposal: filename map
Hello,
After using samba for about a year now on my home network, and for a couple months now on my work network, I feel that I'm familiar enough with most of
the tricks with the % variables to know there isn't a clean way to solve my problem, which is this:
I use samba at home to share a lot of DOS programs. Most of the ones I have problems with are games, emulators, etc, but this

[LLVMdev] PIC16 removal details
The target in this case is 8-bit, accumulator based, however it is Von
Neumann; so - good to know it's not *quite* the "Trifecta of Doom". LLVM
offers some very attractive features for our usage, and it would be
disappointing to abandon it as an option all together. Faced with the
alternative being to write the compiler from scratch, is the consensus that
doing so will be a better
