Unfortunately I can't use GPT partitions because the usb stick are created by non-technical users and lots of them are still using xp 32 bits. I have several machines, same hardware and config, but one tiny little change.. the hostname. Each one of these diskless machines needs its own hostname. Presently my pxelinux.cfg is setup like: prompt 1 default Gentoo timeout 10 label Gentoo kernel boot/kernel-3.16.5-gentoo APPEND root=/dev/nfs rw ip=dhcp nfsroot=192.168.1.10:/RAID/diskless/XXXXX-mythtv-0.27-fixes,tcp,rsize=131072

All, I was excited to hear about EFI boot support in pxelinux >= 6.00. So I tried it. Not working. I've tried 6.02 (from source), 6.02 (from RPM), early 6.03 (from RPM) and even pulled/compiled latest source from git. 6.0.3-pre7. No love. My boot client can boot/image fine in legacy PXE mode. My dhcpd.conf looks like this: # In initial DHCP DISCOVER packet, PXE client sets option

I actually propose another strategy that may kills many birds with one stone. I think it should be able to be handled internally. Right now, we take a kernel argument as a literal file name hdt.c32 really mean load file hdt.c32. That great, it works, that is how most config files are written. All we need to do is change the expectation a little from a literal to a directive with a literal

PXE Error Reporting
I'll play the security advocate.... So most of the people that implement tftp services have almost no idea how they work....and that's o.k. They do however have a few fundamental beliefs that they expect to be true, and it is those beliefs that they use to make decisions when implementing a service and it's data structures. If they are not true, then they are likely vulnerable to an

Spike, There are multiple binaries that come with syslinux. I would highly recommend that you start with the official syslinux pre-built's of pre-7 on kernel.org. You will find inside an syslinux.efi in a 64 bit folder and one in an 32 bit folder. These are the files that you need to point your clients to for efi booting. pxelinux.0 is for bios booting only.
