Donations to Xiph
...Xiph that I hop you have a minute for. Here we go:
== "Who donated what" list ==
As it seems we don't have a "Who donated what" list.
I thought creating such a list could increase motivation
to donate to some parties. What I currently have in mind
would be to start listing donations from now on below
the current content on [1], listing only the latest ~30
donations so the page doesn't get too slow too load
and people have a reason to donate again :-)
We could list what amount was donated or not?
We could "sell" links on that page for extra cash or not?

Trouble getting select to work
...', ''category'', @categories = Category.find(:all,
:order => "category").map {|cat| [cat.category, cat.category]}) %>
I used [[cat.category, cat.category] as I am not interested in the id
and want both values to be equal to the category itself.
This form is a Donation form. One of the fields in the donation record
is a category. The database does not relate these two tables. What I
want to do is simply populate the dropdown category box from the
categories table and allow a category to be selected and that category
be populated to the donation record.

voip-info.org unreliable lately?
Anyone have any insight as to why voip-info.org has been up and down all
day, and more importantly unreliable for the last month?
I assume the bandwidth is being donated or something, but surely someone
would be willing to donate reliable bandwidth as the knowledge hosted on
the site (which is also donated!) is worth way more than the bandwidth.
There is no doubt it is the best

Donation programme
Is there any decision about the donation programme?
The Web page still says: "If you are looking to make a cash dontation to
the CentOS Project, please check back here after August 15th, 2009."
I assume that donations aren't refused, but is there a suggested amount,
as there used to be?

centos friends?
...remind you that the primary means of
substaining the development of CentOS is via contributions by CentOS users.
CentOS is now, and will continue to be totally free; however, it takes money
and resources to make CentOS available.
If you are able, please consider donating to the CentOS Project. Donations of
promo material, public mirrors and dedicated servers are all vital to our
contined operations.
Monetary
CentOS is currently reviewing our cash donation program. In the mean time we
are not accepting any financial donations. We do appreciate though, if you
want to - for example - help out...

Make a donation via PayPal? (was: [R] Monetary support to the R-project)
Dear R developers
I understand that this is not a proper r-devel message, but it still
touches to the organisation of the R project.
I would like to make a small donation to the project, but I am not
comfortable with sending my credit card details via post or mail and,
as echoed elsewhere on r-help, would prefer to go through a generally
accepted service such as PayPal.
Would there be any interest from the R project to implement this? Thank you

Donating
I've never really liked all these donation buttons in web pages, or
receiving donations at all, but as some extra money could make my life
easier in the next few months, I thought I'd give it a try.

How to send in donations via check? and some other suggestions.
Greetings.
I have just successfully updated a RH-9 file server to CentOS-3.1. I'm
VERY impressed. I have a client who has 4 Redhat servers (1 x 7.3 and 3
x 9.0) that I would like to migrate to CentOS-3.1.
Question: My client is willing to send a donation for these boxes but
they just want to send you (caosity.org) a check that will cover the
next couple of years.
Who do we make the check out to? Where do we send the check?
And if a bulk donation via check is OK, then please publish the payee
information on the website.
Another suggestion......

R Founding
...50$ each year just to see R develop, but there
needs to be a way for me to do it in a civilized manner. If the userbase of
R is over 2 million there will surely be 100,000 users who, like myself,
will happily fork out 40$ a year - would that help? you can do the
calculation yourselves. Set up a donation page in which I will be able to
pay by credit card or PayPal and you will start getting donations from
individual users. Advertise this at the startup message of the program: say
something like "support us at www.suppoRtR.com" and the money will start
coming. I am sure there would be...

Donation to the FLAC development project
Hi,
I have a legitimate request for information about how I can contribute to
the development of FLAC. I am not a developer, but would like to make a
financial contribution. FLAC has immensely enhanced my enjoyment of music.
Please let me know if this is an inappropriate forum for this request.
Please respond.
Thank you.

CentOS 5 is done, now it's time to donate!
CentOS 5 is great! Job well done!
Please *consider* making a donation to the project, if you can, to
reward the developers and keep them motivated. That way we can be
assured of getting CentOS 6!
I used the "Donate Now" link on the CentOS home page -- it was really
easy!

CentOS is dead, long live CentOS
...pend
this on oneself instead? If not that then why not at least direct it
towards some project where it might make a positive difference?
There is another point to consider. Governments take a very, very
dim view of tax evasion. Who or what is declaring the income from
and remitting the taxes on donations? What taxes have been remitted
on past donations, and where? I think that you will find that
individuals associated with putting CentOS out are themselves liable
for income earned and not declared if there is not some systematic
mechanism in place to ensure compliance with the applicable laws....

how do I donate resources to xiph.org?
I sent the first version of this email to webmaster@xiph.org yesterday
(as instructed on the www.xiph.org web site), but I have not received
any reply. So I'm trying vorbis-dev list. I've joined the list only a
few weeks ago as soon as I became aware of the project.
I searched through your web site, but I could not see any instruction
on how to donate resources (money, hw, etc.) to the

Google Ads in the Wiki
A fairly serious question: how much can we (as users) donate to get the
Google ads off the Wiki? I guess this does not give so much revenue, and
it is really distracting. So, if we can match the annual income of Google
Ads on the Wiki, I think I (and others) are willing to compensate this
with donations.
I have seen some potential Dutch users getting turned away seeing the main
CentOS site because it looked unprofessional. They main nit probably being
the Google Ads.
