Automagic creation of user a/c & homedir when I create a NT domai n user (???)
Has anybody got a script that auto-creates a linux user (...& hence a Samba
home dir) when a user a/c is created on the M$ DC? eg, the way admins expect
it to work in a homogenous M$ domain.
I expect that the DC uses a form of RPC to create the home dir. This would
have to be caught & fire off a 'useradd' script. ...but I might be
completly wrong...

Is it possible to palce "detailed" (with local+folder@domai.com) messages not to INBOX/folder, but to INBOX/FixedSubfolder/folder?
Hello, Dovecot.
Now, with enabled "recipient_delimiter = +",
"lmtp_save_to_detail_mailbox" and using LMTP, messages with "detail"
in address, are placed in auto-created mailboxes. It is great, but
what if I want to put all such mailboxes not in inbox directly, but
lower in mailbox hierarchy? Is it possible without using sieve?

Joining NT4 workstations to a Samba 3 Domain
Linux: Fedora Core 2
Samba: 3.0.3
OpenLDAP: 2.1.29
I've noticed a couple of other messages in this month's archives that
suggest they're having the same problem as I, but so far no resolution
has been reported.
I've got a new Samba domain up and running with LDAP that allows me to
join Win2K and XP clients, but not NT4 workstations. I've added the
machine account with the

Re: Problems to start a xen DomU using a logical volume.
Hi guys,
I followed this article to install my first xen project to compare its
CPU/memory and I/O performance with a kvm domain on CentOS 6.4.
http://www.virtuatopia.com/index.php/Building_a_Xen_Virtual_Guest_Filesystem_on_a_Disk_Image_%28Cloning_Host_System%29
In the initial tests whit super.pi benchmarck the CPU performance of my xen
domai was extremely worst than my kvm domain.

Chromebook AD integration fails on joining the domain
I ran both scripts last night and was able to get the Chromebook to join
the domain this morning. Thanks, Achim!
For posterity's sake, I should mention that I changed the user's password
when I enabled AES on their Account tab, in ADUC.
Thanks,
Mike

Chromebook AD integration fails on joining the domain
Hi,
I am testing Google's recent ability to integrate Chromebooks into AD and
it's failing when I try to join the device to the domain. When I run
wireshark during the test I notice 2 TGS-REQs from the device that are
answered with KRB5KDC_ERR_ETYPE_NOSUPP. The Chromebook is only passing
AES256-cts-hmac-sha1-96 and AES128-cts-hmac-sha1-96 as enc types. I was
getting the same result from

BVT scheduler settings examples
Are there any examples of bvt scheduler parameters usage?
If I understand it right, bvt provides me with option to scale domain''s
CPU usage. Eg. I have 2 (non-zero) domains pinned to the same CPU. Can I
assign eg. 30% of CPU time to domain 1 and 70% to domain 2? (I mean in
peaks when both domains are not idle and require the CPU time)
If yes, how should I build the "xm bvt"

Chromebook AD integration fails on joining the domain
Hello Mike,
Can be you need to recreate the machine and tgt password on yout server
so it adds the aes enc types for these after raising the functional
domai level.
The required scripts can be found in tthe samba sources in
/source4/scripting/devel/
Use chdcpass for the machine-account and chgkrbtgtpass for the tgt account.
I did this on an single addc server a while back and had no issues.

question of domain group memberships
We've been using samba w/ ADS for quite ahile now and we're quite
happy with it. However, we have run into an interesting impasse
recently.
We have domains A and B. There is bi-directional trust between
the domains. The samba server has membership to domain A.
Recently a new share was created and it's access is controlled by
the domai ngroup A+group. A+group contains users from

Is there a corresponding bug number for the Samba bugzilla so that I can
track when this is fixed for vanilla samba?

pdbedit: importing smbpasswd to tdbsam
Hi there,
I'm trying to import a smbpasswd-file into a Samba 3.0 installation on Debian
Sarge using tdbsam as sole passdb backend.
Copying pdbedit's documentation I used
pdbedit -i smbpasswd:/root/smbpasswd.old
The error message returned was tdb_update_sam: Failing to store a SAM_ACCOUNT
for [foo] without a primary group RID
where foo is the username to be imported.

[PATCH 0 of 2] v2: memshare/xenpaging/xen-access fixes for xen-unstable
The following two patches allow the parallel use of memsharing, xenpaging and
xen-access by using an independent ring buffer for each feature.
Please review.
v2:
- update mem_event_check_ring arguments, check domain rather than domain_id
- check ring_full first because its value was just evaluated
- check if ring buffer is initialized before calling
