No domainserver found
I am trying to configure Samba 2.2.7 as a PDC on a Mandrake 9.0 box,
mainly
serving Win ME clients.
Every time I try to logon to my domain, I get something in the line
of(Translated from danish): "No domainserver found. Windows cannot blah
blah
blah..."
However, once logged in to Windows, I can access my home and shares, and
the
server shows up in the Network neighbourhood.
Both the user and the client-box is registered as samba-users.
WHY CAN'T WINDOWS FIND THE DANM DOMAINSERVER??

...ng to figure out how to auth to the website if the user is in the domain.
Steps Taken:
· Added the server running Apache (2.2.15) to the domain
· Can see the server name in AD
· Can use "wbinfo -t" and get the following "checking the trust secret for domain DOMAINSERVER via RPC calls succeeded"
· Can use "wbinfo -n username" and it returns me the SID_USER
When I go to the website using the config below, I go to the website but I am being prompted for credentials. I enter my AD credentials (tried several accounts), it allows me to authenti...

PDC for Win98
My Problem is:
I installed Samba 2.2.7 on Linux. All the win98-Clients have access to the samba shares, but login doesn't work:
in log.smbd: waiting for a connection
the Client: "Kein Domainserver verf?gbar"
With our old Server, everything was OK

Samba server dropping off the domain
I have strange problem. Installed 3.6.1 on SL Linux (Scientific Linux
release 6.1 (Carbon)).
Compiled:
./configure --prefix=/WWW/apps/samba-3.6.1 --with-quotas
--disable-shared-libs
make and make install all clean.
Joined to our windows domain via command:
./net join -S domainserver -w DOMAIN -U adminuser
Start up Samba via web gui and all is working for about 40 minutes to an
hour. At which point it stops allowing connections. Only fix is to stop
Samba and rerun the net join command and then restart Samba which it
will work for about 40 minutes and then stop again.

WinXP3: NBNS query: non-exist; Wireshark: "'NB ?'<00>" & "'NB ?'<20>"
I'm getting some odd queries from a WinXPSP3 client to an older samba
(3.2.0-24) Domain & File server running on linux kernel (2.6.27.19).
The client seems to be querying for a netbios name <literal-question mark>
followed by binary 0 (<00>) to the DomainServer, or Broadcasting the query
with the '?' followed by a space <20>.
This is from conversation over wire captured w/Wireshark.
What is it looking for and how do I config my samba server to answer?
Maybe unrelated question...:
I've also been getting queries for my Windows Domain...

Win2k clients won't rejoin Samba PDC domain, "Remote Procedure Call Failed"?
Hey everyone, firstly thanks for your time, I've spent hours, a lot
straight days too, for the last couple of weeks trying to solve this
issue. The only thing (afai can see) I've got left is asking the
experts and formatting all the machines and starting over, the latter
of which I'm not interesting in doing because it doesn't solve the
issue (well it might make the problem go

Ghost Create account: procedure number out of range in Samba
Hello,
I would like to clone a Windows XP workstation that's part of a Samba
domain using Norton Ghost.
In Ghost you need to create an account in the domain to be able to add your
domain to the list of supported domains by the Norton Ghost console.
When I try to add such an account, I get this error message:
Unable to add DOMAIN to the list of supported domains,
The procedure number is
