virsh and bash scripts
Hi,
I'm looking for a way to use virsh to connect to vCenter/VCSA and do some
simple management of the VM's in case of power loss (I'm planning to run
the script upon UPS/apcd event of power failure).
Looking through the virsh documentation, I didn't find 2 things:
1. Login through a script (I don't see any user/password, specially since
VCSA for example requires to use

frontend to libvirt APIs, the documentation you're looking for is here [1].

Unless you use the C/Python/Other APIs directly where you can actually specify
a callback that is called during the authentication phase, you're stuck with
the default callback which provides you with a prompt which reads from stdin.

Just need to vent
...re I'm most comfortable (TDE being, of course, a
continuation of KDE 3.x). Yes, there are some packages I can install,
but it hasn't been a major deal for me to make it 'just like what I'm
used to.'
But no environment is perfect; I've used fvwm, lxde, xfce, cde, Apollo
DomainOS pads, the UnixPC Office, raw X11 with twm, kde 1,2,3 and 4, and
gnome 2 and 3; the only modern DE I really don't like is Unity. But for
the rest; well, no real strong preferences. As long as I can start
applications and lots of terminals and get some basic status stuff from
my DE I'm...

6.2 How to change hostname for each individual IP
Good day,
I was wondering if there was a way to change the hostname for each
individual IP address allocated to a system. For example if only one NIC
card is being used (single port) and the hostname of the machine is
"example.example.org", this hostname is being displayed for all
applications no matter what IP I set the application to BIND to. My
server has multiple IP addresses

Just need to vent
Sometimes the direction of UI development in gnome really angers me.
For example, when selecting a font for the gedit text editor - there is
no way to ask it to only show monospace fonts.
It's a fricken text editor, that should be the default - meaning you
have to do something special to get fonts shown that aren't monospace.
Seriously, who is in charge with the UI design in gnome?

Redhat vs centos vs ubuntu
This is a continuation of the thread about redhat vs centos and the
thought of moving from centos
due to redhats new business model. Forgive the length, but I had to share.
I went ahead and downloaded the 5 year supported version of ubuntu server.
You think centos/redhat is a bit tough or not polished?
One day with ubuntu server and you will look at centos install and setup
as a god!
Where do
