Quota over NFS with inode limit
I tried searching this list, but couldn't find anything related to inode limits except for linux quotas. I wanted to add sieve support for our users, so was attempting to get our email system to use dovecot's deliver lda to handle email, instead of postfix's virtual lda, using maildir mailstore. When I did this, I noticed that emails would get stuck in the queue if a user was

Blowfish hashed passwords
...t it would seem to me that these .c/.h files could be added to Dovecot for doing BLF-CRYPT hashing. This would mean all installations of Dovecot going forward would support BLF-CRYPT regardless of whether the crypt libraries have Blowfish built in. Postfix and Dovecot SASL - wiki update
I wanted to mention I updated the Postfix and Dovecot SASL wiki entry yesterday. http://wiki2.dovecot.org/HowTo/PostfixAndDovecotSASL The entry: submission inet n - - - - smtpd was incorrect. It should be: submission inet n - n - - smtpd By specifying n for chroot, it ensures that DNS lookups can occur. Otherwise, if you are using reject_unknown_recipient_domain the following error will

LDA vs LMTP, Cyrus SASL, verbose_proctitle
Is there a reason I should prefer LMTP over LDA for local delivery? Performance? Security? The Wiki doesn't differentiates LMTP vs LDA with respect to sendmail configuration, so am I correct that I just need to replace mail.local with dovecot-lda, which will choose LDA/LMTP based on dovecot.conf? Also, can I consolidate authentication by configuring dovecot to use what sendmail uses (Cyrus

Pigeonhole sieve misfile
I'm having an issue with sieve putting some emails into the spam folder, that should not be matching the spam rule. I tried looking but can't seem to find a debug option. Is there any way I can get a log of what the sieve rule path that matches so I can locate the misfiring rule? or maybe something else that is going on. I already checked the dovecot sieve log file, and there is

Storing passwords encrypted... bcrypt?
Hi everyone, Was just perusing this article about how trivial it is to decrypt passwords that are stored using most (standard) encryption methods (like MD5), and was wondering - is it possible to use bcrypt with dovecot+postfix+mysql (or posgres)? -- Best regards, Charles

E-Mail Encryption
Hello, I am new to Dovecot but installation was quite easy, so there is one more LDAP authenticated, Dovecot / Postfix mailbox online, but there is one question left: I would like to set up a configuration, which encrypts every user mail with a unique key. If user logs in, private key should be decrypted with user password and every mail user requests should be decrypted with users private key.

IMAP goes down from time to time
Good Afternoon I?m really new at this and i don?t know if i?m posting at the right place. My problem is that our Dovecot IMAP is stopping from time to time with no info in the log, i just realize about this when our support person call me saying that the whatsup monitor is showing the IMAP4 process down. I can figure about this too by trying to get in our webmail Horde and i cannot login.
