Warning: number of items to replace is not a multiple of replacement length
I feel like a complete dolt, as I know this question has been asked by others on a fairly regular basis, but I'm going in circles trying to get the following to work: id.prob<-function (tt) { library(mvtnorm) #============================ Makeham<-function(tt) { a2=0.030386513 a3=0.006688287 b3=0.039047537 t<-tt-20 h.t<-a2+a3*exp(b3*t) S.t<-exp(-a2*t+a3/b3*(1-exp(b3*t)))

Sieve during read or login?
I was wondering if anyone thought of applying filters to email post delivery, pre-read. Basically the idea would be to head off Spam, Malware or Phishing for already delivered email. Malware would probably be the least likely target, as (knock on wood) user workstations would be updated, but a targeted phishing scam would not create a public signature that would be downloaded, yet an

A quiet Samba ??
Hello Family, Our sysadmin at work demands that no one have any Samba projects other than the single one on our network due to the "NOISE" that is emitted by Samba. [question] Can I still use the current 2.2.2 with my little test setup and not fall prey to the order to "cease and desist" Samba ? It's one Solaris-8(Intel) and Win2000 and Win98, three total machines. --

[ANNOUNCE] libX11 1.4.0
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 After 3 release candidates, it's finally done - libX11 1.4 is released. As previously warned, libX11 1.4 *requires* libxcb. The Xlib 1.3 branch continues to support the --without-xcb option for the benefit of any remaining distributors who do not yet ship XCB in their stable releases. Using bquote: question
Hi all Observe: x <- c(1,2) y <- c(1,-1) phi <- 1 p <- 2 par( mfrow=c(1,2)) plot(x , y, main=bquote( paste( p==.(p)," and ",phi==.(phi)) ) ) plot(y ~ x, main=bquote( paste( p==.(p)," and ",phi==.(phi)) ) ) par( mfrow=c(1,2)) On my system (details below), the first plot is correct (in my understanding), and produces a title reading "p=2 and phi=1"

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.5.99.901
Ok, this is the first release candidate for X server version 1.6. At this point, I'm interested in seeing only critical bug fixes submitted on the wiki page. Sorry for the delay since 1.5.99.3, but I wanted to get the Enter Leave/FocusIn Out fixes into this release. -keith Adam Jackson (7): randr: Add [GS]etOutputPrimary randr: Mangle compat Xinerama reply based on primary

[ANNOUNCE] xorg-server 1.9.99.901
Ok, I think we've done enough damage for one release. Thanks everyone for pulling a long weekend to get changes prepared and reviewed. We're still missing the threaded input stuff, but that needs more review and I think we wore Tiago out this time around. If someone wants to propose merging it after the freeze, I think we should consider doing it. Note that this tarball depends on
