dovecot and time
I found something interesting via strace. lda is writing a timestamp
with utime before doign the fsync, but I'm really not a C guy, so I
have no idea why that's going on via procmail and not via commandline.
I assume it's related to the choice of pread64 vs read.
when called from commandline (working):
read(0, "July 14-20, 2013\n10 courses. Bon"..., 4096) = 40...

Aggregating a List
...figure out
how to aggregate a list. For instance, if I read.table the following from
a file:
Val1 Val2
A 3 4
A 5 6
B 4 4
I would like to take the mean (or median) across any/all rows of type "A"
to end up with the structure:
Val1 Val2
A 4 5
B 4 4
in this case. How would I go about doign that w/o doing a loop or putting
into a DB and using SQL to do this?
Thanks for any suggestions, or pointers at appropriate functions I should
be reading the documentation on.
Paul

overriding file in a class
Hello,
i use a file type to manage sysctl.conf. For some work i override this file by doign File[''/etc/sysctl.conf''] and i
have an exec refresh only to run sysctl -p so it reread the sysctl.conf file if changed.
My issue is that at each run i got, i start in state when i see the overriden one on the server:
1st run, i have the basic sysctl.conf not the ovveriden...

Specific code questions
I haven't actually had many questions up to now. Despite the
all-encompassing CP_INSTANCE monolith, things have been relatively
easy going. Now we get into real grit:
First off, CBitman looks like it has endianness issues; it's packing
into host-order 32 bit arrays (the comments and symbol names seem to
indicate that this was originally byte-based packing code that got
upped to 32 bit.

Been 3 days now of total frustration and very litle help googling : (
Any suggestions appreciated

P.S. Instead of having to add sambaSAMAccount objects for all my current users, is it possible to filter on posixAccount?

Redundant shared mail store?
Hi guys
I'm about to embark on a project replacing a legacy single mail server
running proprietary software with a cluster of Dovecot servers. We
clearly need a shared mail store for these servers, but we are not happy
with simply using a server running NFS as this becomes a single point of
failure.
What have other people used? AFAICT our options are:
* A shared block device (Fibre

HP DL140G2 and SATA woes
Posted a similar version of this to the RHEL4 list...
I''m having trouble getting CentOS 4.2 installed on a DL140G2 with two SATA
drives. I am doing a PXE install, so I do not have a CD-ROM drive in the
system and this appears to have the side-effect that both SATA drives are
caught by the Uniform Multi-Platform E-IDE driver before ata_piix can catch
it.
As soon as I hook an IDE CD-ROM

But again, why do you want to involve the interface, and thus the
hypervisor for something that is essentially what the guest is doign to
itself ?
It really is something we need to solve locally to the guest, it's not
part of the interface.
Cheers,
Ben.

ownership & ssh
Here's another easy rsync question (I am trying to make sense of
some stuff): Let's say I have this burp file, which I set the follow
uid/gid:
raub@kushana-13>ls -l burp
-rw-r--r-- 1 nobody4 noaccess 44800 Feb 18 13:07 burp
raub@kushana-14>
When I move it to katri, since it does not have those uid/gid defined, it
just spits them out as the appropriate numbers (that were
