When I run are sync with "-e ssh" I get an error telling me the -e options is ignored connecting to the rsync daemon. It then proceeds. Also how can I automate entering the passwd with a script (perl).Thanks

I added the enviroment variable RSYNC_RSH=ssh and every things seems to work fine, but there is no way to tell if rsync is actually using ssh or not?

I was playing with this on my test machine, (redhat 5.2, samba 2.0.3) worked great, and I was really impressed. So I decided to install this on my office machine. (redhat 4.2, samba 2.0.3) and the only significant difference is that on the office machine, I use encrypted passwords. I cannot get swat to authenticate on the second machine. Howdy, I am pretty "green" with rsync so any help will be much appreciated. I want to mirror webserver A and webserver B. The two directories I want to mirror are /www/home and /www/default. I was wondering how I would set this up in rsycd.conf and how I would call it in a script? Thanks David

Here is the problem. I have a primary and a secondary web server. I want to sync the home directory paths on the primary server with the secondary server. I am fairly ignorant to rsync and wondering what is the best method of doing this and how would I call the procedure from say a "perl script". I have two Asterisk boxe. One is running 1.6 and the other 1.2 The users on the 1.2 system press # plus a local 7 digit number to place local calls through the trunk to the 1.6 box. For some reason this dial pattern fails right away with "unavailable". There is no activity in the CLI. Other patterns for the trunk work just fine. Dial pattern: #|. or #|NXXXXXX exten =>
