shorewall friendly way of limiting ssh brute force attacks?
...les like this in shorewall:
http://blog.andrew.net.au/tech
I see tons of brute force attempts on the machines I administer, and I like
the idea of limiting them without the need for extra daemons scanning for
attacks.
Thanks,
Dale

Xen 3.1.0 on Fedora 7- libvir: Xen Daemon error :GET operation failed
Hi, I have been trying to get Xen 3.1 running on Fedora 7 since yesterday
and no luck.
At the beginning I thought it was a problem with teh installation of Fedora
7 so I reinstalled it.
Still, I have the same problem. I have never had this problem with Xen
(FC5,FC6). The xend.log (below)
includes a line "VmError: Device 0 (vif) could not be connected. Hotplug
scripts not working."

xmlrpc?
I''m trying to upgrade from 3.0.3 to 3.1.0 on fedora. When I try to
create a domU, it hangs and stace says the xm create command is
waiting for a response from the xmlrpc.sock socket, which belongs to
xend.
Can anyone tell me anything about xmlrpc? What it''s for, why it might
be hanging?
Thanks

DR7 and CR4
Hi, I''m trying to verify that the Xen I''m running is patched against
the all the known published bugs. I''m running Fedora 7, which means
I''m running Xen 3.1.2. I''ve checked the changelog in the Fedora
package, and I can verify that all the bugs I''ve found are fixed
except for one.

xen version compatibility
If I have a linux kernel on dom0 from xen 3.0.2 and my xen binary is
version 3.1.0, can I expect things to work? What about if my dom0
kernel and xen binary are both 3.1.0 and I have a para virt domU with
xen 3.0.2 code in? What about if the tools are from a different
version of xen?
I''m asking because I''m running fedora 6 and I''d like to try out xen
3.1.0 or 3.0.4

Quest for a better FAQ
I''m working on making a better xen faq. Hopefully I can use it to
replace the one we now have on the wiki.
I''d love to know what people think really are the most frequently
asked questions?
I''m going to paw through the mountains of data that is the xen-users
archive and see what I see. That should be interesting, but probably
not as useful as your opinions.
