dovecot, procmail and deliver
...-IMAP author doesn't like use of NFS, but with
careful use of NFS mount arguments ('noac,actimeo=0' etc.) and trying to
ensure that all activity for a given user takes place within one machine
in the farm, we seem to have been OK.) We have also used UW-IMAP's
'tmail' (in sendmail.cf) and 'dmail' (from any user procmail recipes), so
that access to the INBOX has been consistently UW-IMAP software.
We are now considering doing a transparent migration to dovecot to improve
performance.

Corrupted index cache file
Hello
I got this error yesterday
dovecot: Feb 11 16:07:27 Error: IMAP(dumontj): FETCH for mailbox Sent UID 7139 got too little data: 11112 vs 11160
dovecot: Feb 11 16:07:27 Error: IMAP(dumontj): Corrupted index cache file /user/dumontj/.imap/Sent/dovecot.index.cache: Broken virtual size for mail UID 7139
Does remove the cache will cure the problem ?

can't copy files from Win2K RTM
I am running Win2K (RTM build 2195) and ever since RC2 I have had problems
copying files from my Win2K machine to my RedHat 6.1 Linux (stock kernel
2.2.12-20) box. The Linux box is running Samba 2.0.6.
I either get:
J:\mail\archive\todo\dingo>copy dmail-122499 \\alder\mikenel
Access is denied.
Or I get a file with a funny character created on the box:

Weird internaldate behavior with 1.0-test80 and mbox folder
...real message. It is created automatically by the mail system software.
If deleted, important folder data will be lost, and it will be re-created
with the data reset to initial values.
