You'll have to wait until 2.1 is released (which should have this feature) if
you want to use it without having to patch the source code yourself.

Karl u say,
have an encoder send a never ending playlist to djs.ogg on your dj
icecast and have each dj mountpoint state a fallback of djs.ogg. That
way the listener relay will always pick something up.
<p>So it´s very simple, i do a dj with the ircbrasil.ogg and a fallback

Icecast2 Station with multiple scheduled DJs?
I have been playing with Icecast only for a couple of days, and I am trying to figure out how to do something.
I want a listener to have to only deal with one stream, but I want to be able to switch the source of that stream between multiple sources (DJs). The core idea is that the listener only deals with /live.mp3 while in the background I can problematically switch between a series of live sources (DJs) or an "Auto DJ Playlist" source - all based on a schedule for 24/7 content. Icecast2 Station with multiple scheduled DJs?
...eam early so they and we can verify that all is well. At
the scheduled time, that remote stream is then "played" from a playlist
on mpd.
We are a low-power FM station in the Louisville, Kentucky, area, and we
are run collectively, so having a distributed architecture (allowing
remote DJs) is important to us. Our mpd server, icecast server, and
transmitter are currently in three separate locations. A computer at the
the transmitter site subscribes to the icecast stream.
Unfortunately, it looks like we will be scrapping this system in a few
weeks in favor of a proprietary system...

icecast - it is what i search
Hi!
I want to realize a realtime DJ Battle where some DJs enter
in a virtual cypher and start a HipHop Battle.
For example, there are 5 DJs an 5 listener in the Jury.
Only one DJ my play at present and the others can only listen.
After 2 minutes and a little break another DJ is on the turn
and so on.
Is icecast what i want? Can i realize it with icecast...

Tell me why my Shoutcase handler sucks!
So, I want to build the greatest online radio ever! (for my, currently
crappy, faderwave.net radio station. Right now, I''m running Icecast
straight up. The only problem is that managing different DJs and
keeping them off the air when they aren''t supposed to be there is a
pain. There also is not one single management package that does
everything. My current system is a hacked together mess.
So, I want to build a unified ruby based solution. No, I''m not going
to try to replace...

no, you want the relay. As that hides where the stream is really coming
from.
listener <-- relay/ircbrasil.ogg <-- djs/playlist.ogg <-- encoder
djs/dj1.ogg <------- from dj 1
When dj 1 is ready, he/she will move the client (which is actually the
relay) from playlist.ogg to dj1.ogg. When finished the dj can either
move them back manually or the fallback will move them bac...

I think you are confused.
Icecast mountpoints are virtual, they are not created in the filesystem.
You could achieve the same thing by having a script update

Hi,
I am trying to get my head around a problem I have. First let me tell
you my goal.
I want to setup a site where I can allocate 2 hour time slots to anyone
that wants to play there tunes. My idea was to setup a number of mount
point, each with a username and password and dish these out, along with
a allocated time slot to the DJ's that have booked. This can all be done
with a wee bit of

Hi all,
I am new to this list.
I run an Internet Radio on laut.fm - which allows also live streaming
So keep the streaming keys and passwords secret, but let other DJs
stream to this server, I like to setup an icecast re-stream server.
I tryed icecast as a server on my own dedicated internet server but I do
not see a re-stream option in the icecast config.
Is there a possibility to let my icecast server to re-stream to another
icecast server?
Or do I need t...

Multi-channel labels in Vorbis comments

versions of (a very limited number of) well-known songs from an in-app
store.
We would like to work towards a new open standard for stem mixing,
something that is compatible with sharing our mixes on the open web -
legally, of course - but could also be used by record labels that sell
tracks to DJs.
For example, eight channel Ogg Vorbis files where the first two tracks
are a stereo mix of the drums, third and fourth stereo bass, fifth and
sixth stereo vocals, and seventh and eighth tracks everything else. This
means that you can mute or solo individual stems in the mix, giving you
the versat...
