Bug in yum Logwatch reporting
I've been noticing yum updates on several servers I manage over the
last few weeks, which I know I didn't perform and could not explain
until this morning. At first I suspect a break-in, but found no other
evidence or reason an intruder would run the yum updates I was
viewing.
Yum updates are logged in /var/log/yum.log, which is what Logwatch
scans. Seems that the format of the log

FTPS setup problem
Hi!
I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong with a "simple" FTPS setup
and VSFTPD.
I saw references on Google and tried, and tried, and tried... without
success.
I'll start by explaining my situation: I have a WEB development server
behind a firewall. It's currently only for the intranet. We now have
an external company that will have to do a new website

How to do this simple integration?
...length. Anyone can point out which command should I use in order to
compute this type of integration(such as a function involve sum(), prod(),
etc.)?
Thank you.

Filing a bug for clamav
Hi.
IMHO there is a bug in the latest updater for clamav:
* it places a freshclam script into /etc/cron.daily that uses a hardcoded datadir not defined in /etc/clamd.conf
its never done that before in the last 5 years or so, and I have a script running from cron.d
* its overwrites the permissions of existing directories (lib and log) to another new clamav user, although one already exist

email this very terse message to the list in case it was some help, and if
you need more info just reply saying "more info" and I'll go through the
usual debugging steps.

"parallelizing" the two initial phases?
Hi (especially Wayne),
ftp.gwdg.de is rsyncing most of the data from about 500 other rsync
servers.
Especially during the general "high traffic" phases like the release of
a new Knoppix ISO or a new SUSE distribution or a new KDE release, I see
timeouts with other servers which have maximum traffic at that time.
There is a general scheme:
1. rsync is building the data base of the

Oops, forgot to release 0.23.3
Hi all,
It was brought to my attention that the front page lists 0.23.3 as the
stable release, but that no such release exists.
I could have sworn I released this a few weeks ago, but now I can find
no evidence of that.
I''m going to publish it from the latest commit in the 0.23.x branch as
soon as possible (probably in about 12 hours), so if anyone wants to
get that last-minute

[PATCH] paravirt.h
This version over last version:
(1) Gets rid of the no_paravirt.h header and leaves native ops in place
(with some reshuffling to keep then under one #ifdef).
(2) Fixes the "X crashes with CONFIG_PARAVIRT=y" bug.
(3) Puts __ex_table entry in paravirt iret.
Another followup patch implements binary patching...

Licensing and Copyright
Hi all,
I fear this discussion will quickly devolve into a recursive flame-
fest, but it needs to be broached, so here we go. Note that I kind of
think this is more of dev topic than users, but I want to make sure
everyone knows the conversation is happening and can easily
participate. This is also likely to be the first of a series of
conversations I''ll be starting to try to
