GPL and R Community Policies (Rcpp)
...g that inspired Richard Stallman to say we must "chuck the masks" in the GNU Manifesto. It is obviously a great benefit for the R community to have Rcpp actively supported by the R core team. I am very grateful for this. What I do have a problem with is the fact that my contributions are disparaged by people who have benefited from my past work. It seems to me that there are two possible resolutions. First, if my name is used in the Rcpp package it should be used to provide fair, accurate, and courteous acknowledgement for my past contributions. Second, if this is not possible, then my name...

basic include files for speex
Hi Jean, I'm trying to compile the encode.c and or the test programs that are on the site and in libspeex respectively. however, i keep getting some undefined references to the basic speex functions(see compiler log). a query on google showed that this question was posed but no answer given. I traced them down to speex.c. however when i build my project i still get these undefined referneces.

"TipsAndTricks/ApacheVhostDir" changes for virtual host source files
...on, a reader might notice that the SELinux user is listed as root instead of system_u. The SELinux user discrepancy is resolved with the chcon command shown. Is there a desire for additional explanation of the process? The additional warning against the vhost.d/ section seems to excessively disparage my contribution and discourage other options. Certainly, it could be considered impolite to expand and significantly modify the content of a document when the author is available and willing to make changes. As well, I seek to improve my documentation technique and by-passing me deprives me o...

[LLVMdev] Newbie questions
Hi, I'm just learning about LLVM (really interesting) and have some newbie questions. Feel free to ignore or disparage them if they're inappropriate :-) My area of interest is using LLVM in a Java JVM setting. These are just some random questions relating to that... 1. What is the status of the LLVM+Java effort? Is it GCJ-specific? Is there a web page? I found one link via google but it was broken. 2. I&...

...lement support! 3. The more complex schemes are, the more likelihood of bugs during implementation. 4. The existing OggIndex format only takes up a fraction of a percent of the media size. Over a network capable of playing video, it won't be noticed. I don't want to disparage Benjamin's work; he achieved an impressive level of compression, I just don't think the extra complexity is worth it. ...right issues aside, would the most effective policy be to collect every ".dll" file on a Win98 machine and copy them all over to /C/System on my system? My girlfriend keeps a dual boot around. basic include files for speex
It's not an include file missing. This is a link error. You need to link with libspeex (or whatever it's called when you build it). http parser
Just thought I''d let you know that your http parser worked great for creating an http protocol handler for Eventmachine. It wouldn''t take that much effort to use Eventmachine for Mongrel, might be worth a shot just to see how it does. A few things would need to be restructered, like HttpRequest where you read the rest of the body, and calling the handler. But it

Cisco 7905G
Hi All Just received my first 7905G from a distributer here in Sweden. According to the spec this phone should be able to use SIP. Now I been looking on Ciscos home pages for several hours trying to find a "SIP image" for this phone. No luck at all, need special access to be able to download software to this phone. Is it the fact, that I have to pay for a contract of some kind to be

I say "This is still fairly early development with a number of limitations.", which I believe is accurate. Even though you apparently don't like this work, please don't disparage it. Other people have put time and effort into it, and it could grow to be an important component in the future. >> x. Hackers on my Web server
I have discovered that a gamer has hacked into my web server through a backdoor left open by my predecessor. I have closed the door, but when I try to delete the folders left behind I receive "Access Denied", or when I try to take ownership I receive "Unable to Find File...". I have removed most of the files to obtain enough space to continue operations but would like to remove
