Problem selecting installation drive : 5.2
When doing the 5.2 installation the ONLY drive option provided is mapper/nvidia_cbjcdhfe (250G) My system has 2 SATA - 250G drives and I want to use them in a RAID/LVM configuration. My question: How do I get the installer to let me use DiskDruid to create RAID1 arrays and then use LVM for the mount points? What I've done so far: I've verified that both drives are recognized by going to the shell screen and using fdisk to access both /dev/sda and /dev/sdb - so I know they are both available. I've also tried using the Cento...

bad keytable
...if the bug is present as under Gralinux AS 3 (an other clone of Redhat AS 3) and yes ... this bug is there. When I try to install the Centos3U4, I choose French keyboard (azerty) , French language: no problem. But after, when want to enter the root passord, or edit the name of a partition with diskdruid the keyboard is still in US qwerty. Does anyone have this issue ??? jean-seb -- jean-s?bastien Hubert Service Informatique Air-Austral 0262 93 10 34 interne: 182 http://www.air-austral.com

LVM question
CentOS Community, It is to my understanding that the /boot partition should never be placed on LVM and should be a physical partition on the hard drives (or on top of a RAID array). Is this an accurate statement? Also please advise if the SWAP filesystem is safe to be placed under LVM, or if this should be a hard partition / hard limit as well. I am unsure if boot issues or any filesystem issues

Update 4.2 broke LVM
.... Though lvmdisplay could show the volume group, fsck and mount didn't like it. Oh, and the upgrade didn't fix the thread problem. Anyone have an idea whether it was just me having the LVM problem? I'm currently reinstalling CentOS4 (pre update 1) from CD. At least when running diskdruid, I could mount the LVM group. So, after my install, assuming it is still visible when booting from hard drive, I'll backup those drives before running YUM again. I'f the window manager doesn't start up again, I'll reformat on my next install.

Install question
I have been running Fedora for a number of years and have decided that for my mailserver system (which doubles as a small time web server) I want to go to an OS that has a supported lifespan of more than a year, especially since this machine has in the past been up longer than a year without reboots. The machine that it will ultimately host the OS is a dual processor P3 machine with 2GB of

SELinux threads, cynicism, one-upmanship, etc.
After reading through the various SELinux threads, I really became quite perturbed. I mean, really quite perturbed. As an IT Director (and the entire IT department, currently), if I were hiring a sysadmin I know for a fact that someone whose first response to a question on why something doesn't work is 'turn it off' would not get a job here. Neither would a sysadmin with as much
