Message from Wine: IOPL not enabled (again)
...ut further warnings in the Linux console window where I started winefile.
By googling I found a suggestion to switch gdiplus library to windows native mode, this didn't help me out. I looked into appdb on the windows issues but these reports are probably made with office installed into ~/.wine/disk_c I don't have much else but a pristine wine install. Since all the files wine is looking for are all located on my NTFS drive on E:, I wonder how I should proceed to direct wine to look there instead of somewhere else.
I could use a virtual machine, but it is not trivial to make a virtual machi...

Strange Samba permissions on vfat (fat32) volume
...ot a minus, but a plus if you want to create share for 10-15 users,
because then it's not necessary to mess with all those permissions.
So, recently I have noticed, that I cannot delete some of the files on
that share, even if the share is mounted with fstab option:
/dev/sdb1 /mnt/320gb/disk_c vfat utf8,noatime,umask=007,gid=1003 0 0
I have tried umask=000, but that didn't help either...
Interesting part is that I could delete most of the files, but not those couple.
I compared permissions of the "normal" files and those "bad" ones from...

I need a program to work under Wine...
...to make an Italian dictionary (for
Windows) working under Linux with Wine. I installed Wine via apt-get install
on Ubuntu, and it works.
The Setup of the dictionary was completed with no errors, and so I have the
program in the directory:
C:\Program Files\UTETGDU\GDU\gdu.exe
(It actually is ~/.wine/disk_c/Program Files... in my home directory).
When I run
$ wine gdu.exe
it results this error message:
err:fixup:apply_relocations No implementation for KERNEL.0, setting to
0xdeadbeef
wine: Unhandled exception (thread 000a), starting debugger...
... and the program does not start. Is there anything I...
