Cisco IP Phone- disjoin conference
Hi all, Does anyone know if it's possible to continue talking to one member of an initiated conference call on Cisco 79xx ? In other words- disconnect one of the parties. Thanks. Renaming a computer on a Samba domain
We shift computers around a lot, and therefore need to rename several whenever we get new batches of systems in. Tried simply renaming a system while on the domain, but got an "access denied" error. I WAS able to disjoin the domain, remove the LDAP entry for the computer, log in as a local administrator, rename the computer, and rejoin the domain a different computer name. However,

Win2k clients won't rejoin Samba PDC domain, "Remote Procedure Call Failed"?
Hey everyone, firstly thanks for your time, I've spent hours, a lot straight days too, for the last couple of weeks trying to solve this issue. The only thing (afai can see) I've got left is asking the experts and formatting all the machines and starting over, the latter of which I'm not interesting in doing because it doesn't solve the issue (well it might make the problem go

Daily changetrustpw breaks authentication
Samba 3.0.21b The Samba docs indicate [0] we should be running changetrustpw [1] at some point (cron.daily) to update a machines trust account. However, I've seen multiple instances with 2 seperate AD environments where this breaks our ability to enumerate/authenticate with the domain. In both instances, we see something similar to the following in the winbind logs: (ntlm_auth):

[LLVMdev] YA Vectorization Benchmark
Renato, Thanks for the link. At the moment we are unable to vectorize any of the loops in this benchmark. I found two main problems: 1. We do not allow reductions on floating point types. We should allow them when unsafe-math is used. 2. All of the arrays are located in a struct. At the moment we don't detect that these arrays are disjoin, and this prevents vectorization. We should be

SQL 2000 Failed Authentication
...e - Job 'DOTTIE-Clients-GREG-13' (0x7FAE23BF34367744869B36C09E3B81D2), step 2 - Login failed for user '(null)'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. The process could not connect to Subscriber 'GREG'. We have tried rebooting both servers, as well as disjoining and rejoining one to the domain. The disjoining and rejoining is flawless, but it doesn't fix the problem. We are unable to determine what to try next. Can anybody help us out? Thanks. Please include me in the reply. Moving domain from one samba box to another
I have searched for the answer but have only found others asking... I have been running Samba successfully for ten years now, with approx 50 clients hanging off a Solaris box running Samba 2.2.6. The mixed network of 95/98/2000/XP machines were logging into the Samba domain fine and roaming profiles were functional. We do not have any Windows server machines on this site. I decided to upgrade

WINBIND on a VERY LARGE FOREST
Hi all! I'm trying to setup a linux samba server as a domain member of a SINGLE FOREST MULTI DOMAINS. The forest is a 2 servers acting as a global catalog. Other domains are child domain with implicit trust with forest. I setup a linux server with samba as a domain member to work with squid, authenticating users and verify user's groups membership. I need to allow access to squid only to

Difficulty converting from RH 7.3 to Debian Sarge
I am running debian sarge 2.4.27-3-686 and samba version 3.0.14a-Debian . The previous machine was running rh 7.3 (valhalla) 2.4.20-29.7.progeny.11, samba version unknown. I have restored all shares and directories. Most of users can access everything, however our login script will not run. For those users that cannot log in re-joining them to the domain not only works but then the login

Seamless update from Samba 2 to Samba 3 on a new server
Hi, I'm new to the list, I hope i'm posting at the right place ;) I'm having a hard time trying to update and to move my Samba 2.2 PDC to a new Debian server. Currently, the PDC is using Samba 2.2.8 on a Solaris Server. My goal is to move it to another computer, and to update it to a newer version (3.0.24) This must be fully transparent for the users, since I have no time to

Failed to commit objects: DOS code 0x000021bf attempting to add DC to Zentyal 3.2 domain (samba 4.1.7)
...If I rebuild the domain I have to physically go there because to remotely disjoin/rejoin the windows stations, although it can be done, it would be better to be onsite if issues arise. Next, they have a windows server running some complicated software that is joined to this domain so not keen on disjoining/rejoining that server as I don't know what havoc it would create with some very touchy apps. I have a post into the zentyal forums to find out if there is a clean migration path to their 6.x version.. so far nobody has responded. I will give it a while and see if someone answers. I don't...

Trying to 'Upgrade' to Samba 3.0 on RedHat Enterprise 3.0
Here's my situation: I currently have Samba (v. 2.2.7) running on RedHat 7.3, configured as a Domain Controller. Users are logging into the domain and everything is working fine. I must 'upgrade' to RedHat Enterprise Linux ES 3.0. I say 'upgrade', but what I actually have to do is a complete OS install, NOT an upgrade (there is no upgrade path to RHEL3.0 from anything

cannot login from some machines after upgrading from 2 to 3
...sue here. Some time ago (in march ;) I upgraded my FreeBSD-6.0 Samba 2.2 to 3.0 (currently 3.0.24). After creating groupmaps and doing all the other upgrade tasks, everything seemed to be alright. However, it was not possible to login from some machines (getting error for the wrong password). After disjoining and rejoining domain with these machines, it was possible again. Does anybody know, what could be the problem? There are still some such machines left. One of these is a Windows 2000. When I try to login to domain from there, I see the according log-lines ending with: ===== [2007/06/21 11:40:27,...

[LLVMdev] YA Vectorization Benchmark
Ok, I got the benchmark to work on test-suite, but it's not printing details for each run (or execution wouldn't work). I had to comment out the printf lines, but nothing more than that. I'm not sure how individual timings would have to be extracted, but the program produces output via text file, which can be used for comparison. Also, it does check the results and does report if they
