Samba 2.0.7 configure-script disfunction.
If I do this on a Solaris 8, x86:
tar xzf samba-2.0.7.tar.gz
cd samba-2.0.7
mkdir OBJ/somedir
cd OBJ/somedir
../../configure --prefix=/usr/someplace
and then:
make
it doesn't mkdir "bin" for me, making it compile all
the way until it is about to link bin/smbd.
The linker gives me a message about not being able to find
"bin/smbd" which is kind of misleading. 8-(

Error: evaluation nested too deeply when doing heatmap with binary distfunction
Hi netters,
I have a matrix X of the size (1000,100). The values are from -3 to +3.
When I tried
heatmap(X,
distfun=function(c),dist(c,method="bin"),hclustfun=function(m),hclust(m,method="average"))
I got the error message:
Error: evaluation nested too deeply: infinite recursion /
options(expressions=)?
However, if I used default parameters for distfunction:

Enter key disfunction on Arc+ progress 3 cad software
Hello to everyone
I report a bug that persists wine 1.3.2 with the win program ARCPLUS (or ARC+) release PROGRESS 3 (year 2003) http://www.arc-techno.com.
It's a not widespread cad and it's not included in the list compatibility for wine.
Arc+ software receives input from keyboard shortcuts (eg Ctrl + F2), pop up menus, icons, buttons, context menu (right mouse button) or from the

Has someone hints for a better more reliable setup ?

winbind on SUSE8.2
Hello Community,
is there someone who has winbind working on SUSE 8.X?
On my system the authenication of the domain users simply does not work
getent passwd
shows all domain users
gentent group
shows all domain groups
Login as domain user: Login incorrect!
There seems to be no pam_stack.so on SUSE. Can it work without it?
How can I fix ist? How can I trace the cause of the disfunction?
I would

New issue with a New Vista Client - couldn't find service
Running a samba server version 3.0.7 on a FreeBSD box
Life has been fine with XP and so forth
I added a new vista workstation to my small network
Vista found my shares and I am able to access them with no jerking around
with authentication types or such as I use appropriate pw and user name to
log into the vista box.
Problem is vista is spamming my server, taking up >50% cpu

Minimum version for asterisk and iaxmodem
Hi,
I'm trying to use iaxmodem against a very old version of asterisk
(1.0.7 - its a debian sarge embedded system),
yet when asterisk gets a call from iaxmodem, it says that the "format
for the call is unknown".
Does anyone know if there is a minimum version of asterisk that is
compatible with iaxmodem 1.1.0?
Thanks.

smb client support in midnight commander
...on another terminal.
Of particular difficulty is: since i cant send cli_chkpath when
idle to keep connection alive, NT server times out & closes in 15-20min.
So I have to catch the EPIPE myself to know when i need to close &
reconnect. cli_reestablish_connect() in libsmb/clientgen.c is disfunctional.
I seem to have it reconnecting fine in this situation.
Additional functionality that should be added to midnight commander
to better support smb filesystem is to support the comments field in
server & share listings. Also, the servers are currently shown as
directories. There should be a...

[PATCH 4/4] drm/nouveau/acpi: fix lockup with PCIe runtime PM
...(linked in the
above issue), but that could be a configuration issue that disabled
Optimus in BIOS (unconfirmed).
If it matters, both of these laptops have a MXMX method (Select Display
Data Channel), but their MXMI (Return Specification Support Level) and
MXMS (Return MXM Structure) functions are disfunctional. There is also a
MXDS function on both ACPI handles, but these are not hooked to the WMI
interface for some reason. No idea of Acer has hacked up some drivers to
work with this, outside these models I do not know others that are also
affected by this issue.
