one extention, multiple phones
Is it possible to get a few 7960's and asterisk to allow all
of the 7960 phones to use one extentsion and can only be used
by one person at a time, have it indicate on the other 7960's
when one of the others has the line engaged. Basicly so like
I can setup a rule when an incoming call comes from IAX to
divert to this extension, it will ring the extension (thus all
phones), and allow me to

...value that made it impossible to download emails without timeouts, so
we switched back to tcpserver/qmail-pop3d for pop3 and only kept dovecot

Dovecot is really fine, but it still isn't NFS ready. Especially when
using dovecot as pop3 only this index-stuff must be disengageable. What
is the use of generating a complex index file for hundreds of messages,
that will be deleted in the next step after downloading them? But the
index is also a problem when using IMAP over NFS. Access to the files is
too slow, so the connections keep hanging around and the i/o waiting

Peter,
I strongly suggest that you take a break from this email thread and
careful consider the points Chandler has made about community norms and
expectations before returning to this discussion.
Chandler has been exceedingly patient with explaining why your behaviour
is problematic and made several concrete suggestions as to productive
next steps you should take.

Listener statistics on a fallback stream
Hello,
I've come across a small problem and I'm not sure it's a bug or a
misconfiguration in icecast, so I thought I'd ask here.
The situation: we have an automated radio station that is fed from a
dedicated virtual machine with SAM broadcaster. I set up a stream with a
fallback mount; SAM connects to the fallback. Now, whenever the DJ wants
to broadcast live all he has to do is

upssched: read confirmation failed
When the UPS starts to run on Battery, upsmon notifies upssched, and
upssched runs an "onbatt script", which sends out an alert every 15
seconds via wall.
When the UPS is put back on line, upsmon acknowledges this change (via
WALL). However, upssched does not get notified properly, so the onbatt
script continues to send alerts. About 45 seconds later, upssched
acknowledges the UPS

SOLVED: upssched: read confirmation failed
I had upssched call the looping script, and background the process (via
'&'). This seems to have resolved the problem, and eliminate the delay I
was experiencing

System memory
Dear All,
I have been experiencing the following problem when I use a lot of system
memory when using R heavily.
Everytime I shutdown the process (Xemacs and ESS), my system remains slow
and sometime does not respond. I use a debian testing machine. Even when
I shutdown (halt) the system, it will crash and on reboot it will check
the disk for errors.
I have also used gc() after I removed

Grandstream phone from speaker phone back to handset
I have problem to change from handsfree mode to handset mode. When I
switch from handset to handsfree while waiting for connection I press
the green speakerphone button once. It is all well. Once it is connected
I don't want to give the called party too much echo and I want to switch
it back to handset. If I press the green button again I lose the call.
Anyone knows whether it is possible

Media Proxy Mode in Asterik: SIP and H.323
Hi List;
All we know that in voice, there are a type of
communications between endpoints, for example: in some
communications we do a proxy for media and signaling
while other communications we do a proxy for only
signaling.
Where I can determine these things in Asterisk if I am
using SIP and if I am using H.323?

Access authorization
Hi all
I am using samba ver 1.9.16p11 and we
disengaged all the shares in the smb.conf
and only allow the system admin personnel to
uncomment shares as they wish (security
reasons) however, the biggest problem that we
are having is that we are unable to access
samba at all, it shows up on the computer but
he shares that are uncommented cannot be
accessed with valid UNIX login and passwords.

Listener statistics on a fallback stream

Well, the fallback mount is still a mount-point nonetheless. you could
still use it as a "regular" mount-point even if its configured as a
fallback to another.
Now, as for the statistics, should we be able to help without knowing

Media Proxy Mode in Asterik: SIP and
Dear Alex;
Thanks for your kindly reply.
Please explain for me what do u mean exactly in "a la"
in the following sentence u wrote it below?
" in SIP, this can be done via
"re-INVITEs" a la the canreinvite= option for SIP
peers in sip.conf"
Another thing, do u mean that it is easier (better) if
we need H.323 endpoint to talk with SIP endpoint then
we use full

Realtime: Should I say or should I go (now) ?
Hi,
I'm working on a 500 seats Asterisk project.
I'm wondering whether or not I should consider using Asterisk Realtime and a
database to manage phones registrations.
Stories in Dev mailing list say Realtime is mis-used or should be improved.
So, what's the bottom line ?
Can I consider anything I can do with .conf files can be done with a
combination of .conf files and Realtime.
