This is 100% not about political correctness.
It's about the repeated lack of empathy and understanding.
You believe the things you are saying are somehow right, and the reason
others disengage is because they can't handle the rightness.
This is your repeated quip about about others have an emotional reaction to
your rightness.
As mentioned repeatedly now, the reason they are disengaging, is, bluntly,
they think you are both wrong and and asshole.

one extention, multiple phones
...asicly so like
I can setup a rule when an incoming call comes from IAX to
divert to this extension, it will ring the extension (thus all
phones), and allow me to place a call on hold on one phone
and pick it up on another and the original phone would
acknowledge that the call has been picked up and disengage.
Can I do this without call parking?
Basicly the same model as having a bunch of phones on a pstn
line with each phone having a hold button. The goal here is
to allow me to pick up a call on any of the 7960's anywhere
in my house and be able to move from room to room as needed

we switched back to tcpserver/qmail-pop3d for pop3 and only kept dovecot

Dovecot is really fine, but it still isn't NFS ready. Especially when
using dovecot as pop3 only this index-stuff must be disengageable. What
is the use of generating a complex index file for hundreds of messages,
that will be deleted in the next step after downloading them? But the
index is also a problem when using IMAP over NFS. Access to the files is
too slow, so the connections keep hanging around and the i/o waiting...

Peter,
I strongly suggest that you take a break from this email thread and
careful consider the points Chandler has made about community norms and
expectations before returning to this discussion.
Chandler has been exceedingly patient with explaining why your behaviour
is problematic and made several concrete suggestions as to productive
next steps you should take.

Listener statistics on a fallback stream

fallback mount; SAM connects to the fallback. Now, whenever the DJ wants
to broadcast live all he has to do is start up his studio and connect to
the 'real' stream, thus taking over the stream without having to logon
to the server, stop encoders, etc. When he's done he disengages the
stream and listeners are automatically back on the automated stream.
This setup may be somewhat unusual in that we're running in "fallback"
mode most of the time.
The problem I have is that the listener statistics are now on the
fallback stream, not the 'real' one, so no...

If you can schedule some downtime, you might want to try usbhid-ups again after powering the UPS down completely and unplugging it for a little while. (Often, a few seconds after the output is off and the AC has been removed, you will hear relays disengage.)
The other PDC HID UPSes would usually report some changes every few seconds. If you do not see any changes after "rebooting" the UPS (something other than "Got 0 HID objects..."), try toggling the AC power (recommend using a circuit breaker or power strip to keep the ground a...

System memory
Dear All,
I have been experiencing the following problem when I use a lot of system
memory when using R heavily.
Everytime I shutdown the process (Xemacs and ESS), my system remains slow
and sometime does not respond. I use a debian testing machine. Even when
I shutdown (halt) the system, it will crash and on reboot it will check
the disk for errors.
I have also used gc() after I removed

Grandstream phone from speaker phone back to handset
I have problem to change from handsfree mode to handset mode. When I
switch from handset to handsfree while waiting for connection I press
the green speakerphone button once. It is all well. Once it is connected
I don't want to give the called party too much echo and I want to switch
it back to handset. If I press the green button again I lose the call.
Anyone knows whether it is possible

Media Proxy Mode in Asterik: SIP and H.323
Hi List;
All we know that in voice, there are a type of
communications between endpoints, for example: in some
communications we do a proxy for media and signaling
while other communications we do a proxy for only
signaling.
Where I can determine these things in Asterisk if I am
using SIP and if I am using H.323?

Access authorization
Hi all
I am using samba ver 1.9.16p11 and we
disengaged all the shares in the smb.conf
and only allow the system admin personnel to
uncomment shares as they wish (security
reasons) however, the biggest problem that we
are having is that we are unable to access
samba at all, it shows up on the computer but
he shares that are uncommented cannot be

Media Proxy Mode in Asterik: SIP and

By the way: Asterisk allow H.323 to talk with SIP?

Bilal,
Asterisk is an IP PBX and thus a back-to-back user
agent; by default,
it
will proxy media. The only way to disengage it from
the media stream
is
to use signaling protocol-specific mechanisms to coax
the endpoints
into
talking to each other directly; in SIP, this can be
done via
"re-INVITEs"
a la the canreinvite= option for SIP peers in
sip.conf. The H.323
stack
in Asterisk may or may not have...

Realtime: Should I say or should I go (now) ?
Hi,
I'm working on a 500 seats Asterisk project.
I'm wondering whether or not I should consider using Asterisk Realtime and a
database to manage phones registrations.
Stories in Dev mailing list say Realtime is mis-used or should be improved.
So, what's the bottom line ?
Can I consider anything I can do with .conf files can be done with a
combination of .conf files and Realtime.

Ok I am new to UPS and I can say that I would have never thought of that.
So:
1) Shutdown the PC
2) Shutdown the UPS - several minutes (I am writing this e-mail)
3) Try to find a cirquit breaker - found one. Lucky!
4) Power up the UPS
5) Power up the PC - it is configured to start the nut-serv...

[PATCH V5] x86/kexec: Change NMI and MCE handling on kexec path
..., take the time now to
bullet-proof the kexec behaviour to be safer in more circumstances.
This patch adds three new low level routines:
* nmi_crash
This is a special NMI handler for using during a kexec crash.
* enable_nmis
This function enables NMIs by executing an iret-to-self, to
disengage the hardware NMI latch.
* trap_nop
This is a no op handler which irets immediately. It is actually in
the middle of enable_nmis to reuse the iret instruction, without
having a single lone aligned iret inflating the code side.
And adds three new IDT entry helper routines:
* _write_ga...
