Much to my surprise, the color option black only grayscale
does what I want when printing from a GUI.

thread removal
...ear I asked for help to this list, and exchanged
emails with many users, to solve an issue (samba vs AD2k3) . I exchanged
many emails trying different commands and sending many results of these
commands.
Unfortunately I did not changed all assigned usernames with anonymous ones.
No a user in my net discoverd her name in the archive of this list, and is
asking to remove the thread with her name.
I don't know if this is possible and how.
Could someone please help with the correct procedure ?
THANKS

Weird EINVAL readig *large* file
...organizing my vinum volumes I copied several (unmounted)
vinum volumes (ufs filesystems) to a large IDE disk using dd(1)
in order to be able to recreate my vinum volumes.
When I try to read back one of the saved images containing a
16GB filesystem, I get EINVAL somewhere half way the file.
I first discoverd this when I tried "sum /dev/vinum/arch" but
this happens with every command I use to read the file, even
with a small C program I wrote to just read the file in 8KB
chunks to verify this error.
The read(2) manual page gives the following explanation for
EINVAL:

Re: Bar plot with variable width (down a drill hole) - now missing intervals?
Hi again,
Thanks Ted and Marc its works. But of course after pulling in in some
real life data I discoverd one hitch. Often there are missing
intervals. For example:
from <- c(0, 1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25.0, 30.1, 45)
to <- c(1.2, 4.0, 4.2, 5.0, 25, 30.1, 36.2, 50)
intensity <- c(0, 1, 3, 2, 1, 0, 2, 5)
barplot(intensity, width = -(to - from),
space = 0, horiz = TRUE, ylim = c(-40, 0))...

Incorrect 'low battery' detected with Back-UPS XS 1200 (newhidups)
Hello All
I just discoverd NUT and I'm lovin' it. I was very successful getting
nut to monitor a CyberPower UPS along with having a Linux slave for a
friend of mine. I've come to a snag on my personal system though. I
currently have two Back-UPS XS 1200 APC UPSs, and I'm seeing
notifications of low battery on...

Please some enlightment on ENUM !!
...ng to me:
Currently I try to get ENUMLOOKUP() working. Naturally I do all the
testing with my own number.
I registered my number at e164.org
I paid for registration of my number at a registration agent for e164.arpa
(I know, I don't need both. I just did the .arpa registration first and
later discoverd the free .org service....)
Assume my number was +4311234567
"dig 7.6.5.4.3.2.1.1.3.4.e164.org" and "dig
7.6.5.4.3.2.1.1.3.4.e164.arpa" both return NAPTR records.
Now for the less clearer points:
Your'e supposed to register your number without any extension.

Problem with OpenSSH with UseLogin.. AGAIN!!!
Hello,
By the 26th of May I will have been waiting for response for 17 days.
I have posted this mail at 9 May 2001 20:38:58 and still this bug is not
fixed and AFAIK no one have answered to this mail. I have to ask: why? ;-)
---------- My OLD message ----------
Hello,
I have just discoverd that ssh -T does not work with servers which have
UseLogin option enabled. This happends becouse /bin/login can not work if
there is no tty. To correct this, it is necessary to add:
options.use_login = 0;
at the top of the "do_exec_no_pty" function from the "session.c" file.

how do I use only black ink?
I have an HP Photosmart C3180 All-in-one.
As I haven't had any need for color lately,
when I last replaced ink, I only replaced the black cartridge.
It didn't work, even when printing grayscale-only images,
even when telling print-set-up grayscale-only.
Is there a way to tell my printer to use only the black ink cartridge.
My test image is a handmade postscript file
that only use setgray

Visual Migration Design Tool

reflected in the database.
Unfortunately, DBDesigner is no longer supported; I understand the
designers have went to work for MySQL on MySQL Workbench. I''ve been
limping along with DBDesigner for some time now, and then I discoverd
migrations.
I liked the functionality of migrations, but sure didn''t want to give up
my pretty intereface. So, it occurred to me that I could write my own
for working with migrations.
WebERD (working title) is the result of that idea. It has a visual

To be precise: Black lines were black,
but pale gray areas were an even paler yellow.
I've just discoverd that the printer does
the right thing with text from a pdf.
The black ink cartridge is getting used,
just not enough.
I used HPLIP, but it has been a while, so no details.
Before remembering HPLIP, I'd tried to install the printer with just CUPS.
It would not print.
Using HPLIP, I got a rather...

Application is listen to UDP port but no output
...top. The network communication of this software is running over udp port 9871. If i send a request from the Laptop to the wine application i see the correct reaction on the wine screen, but i don't get a get a feedback on the windows machine.
I used Wireshark to debug the network traffic and i discoverd on eth0 only traffic from laptop to wine application.
I tried to open the ports with:
Code:
sudo iptables -A OUTPUT -p udp --dport 9871 -j ACCEPT
but the same old story.
Some ideas out there?
Thanks Olli

Hy Samba users,
I've got a problem with an samba/ldap setup. As I set an ACL to a domain

I discoverd the OpenLDAP logfiles. There, the server sends a search

smbclient seems touched in the head
Hi, All
I'm brand new to the list, and here's what's going on:
I am running samba 1.9.18 on a RedHat Linux box (RH release 5.2).
Samba was installed via RPM rather than built locally.
While configuring smbd for a different purpose than I write about
here, I discoverd smbtar. It struck me that this might prove a
useful tool for backing up an NT mail-server (icky, I know) from a
Linux box.
However, I have encountered much difficulty while trying to make a
go of this scheme.
"smbclient -L mail2" produces the error message "Try to connect to

barplot with some 0 frequencies
Hi all,
I am back with a new question !
I recorded the occurence of 4 differents event on 20 places for a given time
period.
Now, I want to do some barplot of the frequency of theses events for each
place, so it should be easy. My problem is that I want to see the
frequencies of the 4 events on my barplots even if the frequency of some of
them is 0.
How could I do that ?
Thanking you in advance
