hmm.discnp hidden markov model
Hi all,
I am using a discrete Hidden Markov Model with discrete observations in
order to detect a sequence of integers. I am using the "hmm.discnp" package.
I am using the following code:
signature <- c(-89, -98, -90, -84, -77, -75, -64, -60, -58, -55, -56, -57,
-57, -63, -77, -81, -82, -91, -85, -89, -93)
quant <- length(-110:-6)
# Initialize and train the hmm with the observed sequence mentioned above.
# "yval" list...

hmm.discnp or other?
(I think) I'd like to use the hmm.discnp package for a simple discrete,
two-state HMM, but my training data is irregularly shaped (i.e. the
observation chains are of varying length). Additionally, I do not see how
to label the state of the observations given to the hmm() function.
Ultimately, I'd like to 1) train the hmm on labeled d...

R package for computing state path using Viterbi algorithm
...eotide sequences, A, T, C and G), I hope to predict the
sequence of state by Viterbi algorithm. I searched R repository for
related packages. msm package has function viterbi.msm (as well as
very good document), but it only works for continuous-time condition.
Other two HMM related packages, hmm.discnp and repeats, however, does
not have such a function (similar to "hmmviterbi()" function in
MatLab).
Is there an R package that implements such a function?
Thanks,
Wuming

Markov and Hidden Markov models
Hi,
Is there a package that will estimate simple Markov models and hidden
Markov models for discrete time processes in R?
Thanks in advance,
David

Multivariate discrete HMMs
Hi r-help,
I have been using your RHmm package for some time and have recently
had to try using the package for a new dataset.
Basically I have a dataset with a number of discrete observation
variables that change over time, and I would love to try modeling them
using a HMM.
Basically I was wondering if RHmm can be used to model a multivariate
discrete HMM, i.e., the observations are a vector

Problem installing rgdal on a laptop running Ubuntu 16.04.1
I previously sent a cri de coeur about this problem to the r-help list
but so far have not managed to extract a solution. So I am trying here.
(Uh, Ubuntu *is* a "special instance" of Debian, isn't it?)
The problem is that I cannot install rgdal, and I need it. Rather
desperately.
I do:
install.packages("rgdal",lib="/home/rolf/Rlib")
and get the error
