dvd iso's
Well that didn't work. I got a bootable dvd out of it but the
centos installed did not detect the media as having the
installation files. It asked for a cd instead of recognizing the
dvd. Winiso cannot handle dvd's..:( Anyone have a way to make
the centos installer realize all its files are on the dvd instead
of looking for three cd's?

I would like to how how I can take the CentOS 4.4 Server Cd for

createrepo command for 6.4 respin
Hi List,
I have been searching for the correct createrepo command to make a 6.4 respin.
We have been doing this with previous versions using
createrepo -u "media://$discinfo" -g ${DIR}/my_kickstart${VER}/comps.xml .
Which had worked fine until now.
Thanks,

Hi,
I am using Centos 4.4,on which I created a kickstart file using kickstart

booted the system using this cdrom. The cd managed to boot and found the
kickstart file in the cd but fail to continue with this error message
"CD not found. The centos 4.4 server cd cd could not found in any of your
cdrom drives".I also

5.1 Anaconda Install Error
...p. I've tried this with physical DVD media,
PXE-HTTP and media-boot HTTP install. It happens every time.
This is a reinstall to this host. The weird thing is that I was able to
install to this host from this media previously.
I've seen the note at bugs.centos.org regarding an incorrect .discinfo file
but that doesn't seem to be it. The .diskinfo file:

Does anyone have any idea what's going on?

Merging Install DVDs on a PXE server
Hi all,
Probably a simple question, but, I'd like to merge both install DVDs
into one directory on my PXE server. Obviously I will need to copy all
of the files, but do I need to cast a magical incantation to recreate
.discinfo, .treeinfo, etc?
Thanks!

Strange behaviour from http install
...ve the iso for centos 5 on
/cd/0 and the sme_server7 iso on /cd/1 and the centos 4 iso
on /cd/2 (/cd/3 is there, but not mounted to anything)
Even though i used
server : 10.1.1.8
path : cd/0
the centos 5 installation (anakonda?) seems to have gone up
a folder, seen the 1,2,3 dirs and asked for .discinfo on the
following paths;
/cd/0
/cd/1
/cd/2
/cd/3
Upon finding .discinfo in folders /2 and /3 it has then got
all confused (not enough to crash as both sme server and
centos 4 are familiar file structures i guess?) and then
asked the server for wrong versions of files (again and

- Make an automatic install bootable CD
Hello,
I tried to make an automatic install bootable CD, with a kickstart file. I use
this command to create my CD :
sudo mkisofs -v -r -T -b isolinux/isolinux.bin -c isolinux/boot.cat -J -o
InstallCD.iso -no-emul-boot -boot-load-size 4 -boot-info-table -hide-rr-moved
.
I copied all the contents of the CD #1, on a InstallCD dir, on copied my
ks.cfg file into the isolinux directory.

Kickstart
Does someone have an example mkisofs command with arguments to create
a CD from the files on the CentOS CD?
Since we are building servers, all the data is on CentOS4 CD1. I plan to
modify it to include a kickstart file and remove some of the things on
there that I don't need.
I use something like this on the Cobalt Networks servers, need mods to
work on CentOS. (following on one line)

Custom respin ISO prompting for discs
...inimal DVD _without_ running createrepo (just placed the
kickstart in the root of the image). This worked fine.
That 4 works suggest that createrepo is at fault, but I can't for the life
of me figure out what is going on. I've done this without a base url (-u)
and with (using 'head -1 .discinfo).
Can anyone offer some suggestions for how to debug further?
Thanks - Karl
